Alder, Rosewood fingerboard with Abalone Blocks, Classic Sunburst, Strap Locks, HipShot on the B string. It sounds AMAZING!

THIS is so cool....perfection.

Beauty jb64. I was going back and forth between that look, possibly a lake tahoe blue (or the Carvin equivalent), or white. I ended up ordering the white option (trying to be my version of a Yamaha Nathan East bass). TODAY is the day the post card said it would be completed, so I am anxiously awaiting email that it shipped. :hyper: Hopefully in a week or so I can add some pics. Hope you enjoy yours jb. It is definitely a good looking bass.

Thanks Micah!

I ordered the bass on July 20 and my card had a September 13 completion date. The bass was finished on August 23, three weeks early! So, you might be seeing it sooner than later.

Lucky! ;) I was hoping the same, but still showing "processing" on their website. They have till the end of the day to finish it, or I'm coming to get them. Ok, not really. I just hope it is done soon. So stoked about playing it. Is this your first SB? Have to keep us updated on how you like it. Enjoy that bass this weekend!

Does anyone know if their's a way to see what your bass will look like before you place your order. With all the options I would like to see what some of these crazy combinations might look like.

I don't think so. I've wanted the same thing. Have seen guys on this post doing it with Photoshop. Best thing is to visit the Gallery within Carvin's site to see the 50 or so they have posted. I have my second Carvin being shipped today, and am hoping my selections look good - but had to use my imagination and just hope I didn't blow it.

Not exactly but here is what I did

Use google to do a site image search on the guitars in stock section. You'll get a pretty big chunk of pictures that used to be in stock but cycled off the page. Good for looking.

site:www.carvinguitars.com/guitars-in-stock/

Then pop on other terms to the end of the search after the url so in google image search if I wanted to see green guitars I would put in green on the end..

site:www.carvinguitars.com/guitars-in-stock/ green

Also use the carvin gallery. Between the carvin gallery and a google site image search of their in stock page you can see just about any combination you might want to look at of body color w/ neck.

I bought a SB4000 a few months back and it has quickly become my favorite bass (and I have quite a few). I really need to use a 5 string for my main gig so I haven't played out with it much but I have been using it in the studio a bunch.

I just bought ArcticT's orange burst SB5001 and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. :hyper:
