rigs you guys playing your SB basses through?
Do you dig the Carvin bass amp?
When I played the SB5000 for the first time at the Dallas Guitar Show back in April, they plugged me into a little Carvin 2x10 combo that sounded great I thought. Now that the SB5000 sounds so good, I thought hmm, what about a total Carvin rig? But I am really happy with the Genz Benz. I just wish it could get to 2 ohms so I could use my fave SWR cab + another cab when I needed to. I like that the Carvins can.

It will be intersting if the series follows other Carvins on used prices?

3 days left no bids on a mint bass for $800, Maybe would sell at $600- $700?
Nice looking bass

This is kind of what I was thinking as well. The SB seems to play in that "Super Fender J Bass" niche like Lakland, Sadowsky, etc. My guess is that basses that are configured in that vein will have good resale value. One that looks just like a Marcus Miller bass for example should fetch good money. On the other hand, as customers take advantage of some of the more non standard J bass options on SBs, the resale on those types of configurations will drop, imo. Throw a pickguard and some frets on that puppy and it would be gone. It's fretless so it loses a lot of interested buyers immediately.

FYI I went to lower my action yesterday and discovered the bridge pieces are down as low as they could go. I tightened the truss rod but looks like I'll have to shim the neck to get the action to where I want it. Carvin should address this at the factory prior to shipping. Shouldn't be a difficult fix. Anyone else have this issue?
No neck probs with mine. Man, this bass is calling my name:
