Trimmer will work. They make ones specifically for this, well for 'sweater pills', but careful work with a hair one will work too

My thought too. I used to have one, never did a cab (my cat peed on things, not scratches).

They also hate water spray bottles.

I bought a combo that had the same problem. I used one of these and touched up bare spots with a mist of black spray vinyl paint. Small areas can be touched up with a Sharpie as previously mentioned.

Yeah, I've done the clipper / sharp scissors thing. My cats never dug up enough rat carpet to expose the wood underneath, so that's good.

If I were you, though, I would get a bunch more cat trees. My cats don't do the destructive thing anymore, because I got them a whole bunch of cat trees, and they prefer to scratch those. They're Invalid Link Removed, so they look good around the apartment, and are really satisfying to claw for the cats.

Also: never declaw a cat. Invalid Link Removed Trim their claws, but never declaw them.

what works well for me is a heat gun. All the little fuzzies get melted and the fuzzy subs and amps get a nice haircut. (my kids got a big kick out of it when we called it that) takes a little bit of practice to melt everything evenly, just don't spend too much time on one spot.

Heat gun? Like a hair dryer or what?

I've covered it since. I also have a wild 3 year old human here I have to protect my stuff from. I think I'll just trim it and try the heat gun thing.

Painting without stripping it will look like crap. Stripping the fur and glue and painting will be a nightmare. Stripping and recovering with cat fur is cruel and unusual. Trimming is your best option.

My cat turned my new cab into an afro overnight! She scratched up all corners real good. It's a cheap Seismic 3x10, but I think it sounds really good for the price. They cut corners on construction (cheap rat fur, particle board I think). So, it's definitely not worthy of stripping and refinishing with bedliner after I looked up other threads on that topic. I'm wondering if there's some other easy and cheap option that will make it look a little better. My thoughts were shaving it with an electric hair trimmer or possibly taking the hardware off and putting tons of paint on it to mat it down. I have a bunch of different house paints laying around. I know it wouldn't stick well, but if I just put some thick coats on.... maybe????

My cat tried the same thing to my Markbass combo. She seems to like the feel of the fuzz on her footpads. I corrected her a few times and she stopped doing it. Maybe if you catch your kitty in the process and tell her no she'll get it. If not maybe put it on a stool or something so it's harder to reach.
You could try a scratching post next to it but cats are unpredictable. There's no telling which he/she will prefer.
I used a beard trimmer to take the fro down a bit on mine and it looks fine.
