Cat scratch rat fur problems... Any easy fixes?

Yeah that's just not true. For one, if my cat's scared of me, I doubt he'd curl up on the bed and spoon with me every night, or let me pick him up and fly him around the house like an airplane on my shoulder. For two, I'm going to take the advice of a whole slew of animal experts over anyone else's, and water bottles are pretty universally lauded when used properly. For three, there's obviously the need for a reward system for when a pet is behaving well and resisting the urge to misbehave (and yes, the water bottle is not a first resort but one for a recalcitrantly misbehaving cat). For four, I had to use the same method to get him to stop unraveling all my toilet paper, and THAT problem was solved completely.

I respect opinions on here, but I've got my own cat handled. Thanks.

Get a fabric de-piller, it’s basically an electric razor that’s designed for more serious cutting. That, or a bic razor, just like shaving a beret...but it’ll be tedious and time consuming.

Trim the cat’s claws. They don’t scratch if their claws aren’t daggers.

Before the poop storm starts, I said trim the claws, not declaw the cat. The first is like trimming your own nails, which is just good hygiene. The second is like cutting off your knuckle, which is just mean to the cat.

Watched a video on YouTube some time back of a guy just straight up cutting back the rat fur with an Oster hair trimmer with no attachments... some guys use a wire brush but that still didn't get it as clean as the Oster method. Can't find the vid unfortunately, I tried. But it was super clean when he was done.

In the past I've used a disposable razor to shave the fur. It works. But if your cat keeps going at it, it's a PITA. Rat fur sucks. I have no idea why builders continue to use it.
