Just won a Charvel 1b on ebay for 221$ I loved this bass in the late 80's and regretted trading it in. Even same color as my old one. Maybe Claudia won't notice it.....

Charvel 1b would have been a much better thread title.
There was already a thread about an S.O. going to get riled over a bass purchase recently.
Yes that subtle red color is so easy to hide. maybe I should repaint it orange to make it more inconspicuous. It is very inconspicuous.
I had a few of those, even a couple red ones. I needed the maple fretboard for another project and sold this one with a rosewood. The buyer actually did NOT want the maple fretboard so he was happy

I tend to like the maple better. Should be coming today, looking forward to reclaiming a bit of my youth.
Nahh, need thick black one with studs. It's fun to revisit instruments of ownership past.
This era of Charvel are bargains now.
Get a sparkly strap to help it lay low from the eyes of the lady...
Usually easiest thing to make a weak bass better is switch the pups.although people cringe when you say charvette, there is also the model 400 single-p which is plentiful.
If you are the type of person who would replace the pickup anyway, an excellent alternative. ( I still have and use mine with a EMG Select pickup replacement because the pickup was a weak point in the charvettes )
