    Did anyone "kill" the tone of a bass by sudden changes in temperature or humidity?

    Like the title says... Has anyone here experienced all the tone and life getting sucked out of a good bass after exposure to sudden, drastic changes in temperature or humidity? I do not mean issues like sudden appearance of twists or bends, just loss of resonance and sustain.
