It's great to know people don't take themselves too serious. Somehow I find myself strangely attracted to that bass. I guess it's the same thing that makes me like this -

Never saw those before. What's the neck joint? Still Les Paulish but it's a start. Did they do fives?

I believe it was a four bolt Fender-ish neck joint. They only did fours.

fully agree "tone" is overrated IMO, find something good, stick with it and play

The playing is more impressive then the tone anyday of the week. Tone finding IMO is after you had a few beers, band practise is done and your just hanging at the drummers place

Fully disagree. What does finding something good actually mean? It's probably different for every player but the common denominators are A:"does the bass play right and feel comortable?" and B: "Does the bass have the sound (Tone) that is in my head and will help me make the music I want?"
You could play half and whole notes on the root all night long and if your tone is killin' your band is going to sound great.
