Cheap stoner rock amp

xbe7vdwccphxg0020b6e.jpg
My first amp was a beat up version of the Peavey in the picture... Hooked to a 18" Sunn cab. Bought the whole rig for $150. It was heavy... and it was loud!

That peavey setup is cool, that Ampeg cab is about $250 overpriced, especially in its current condition. I wouldn't pay more than $400 for a beat up ampeg 2x15.
I wouldn't pay over $200 for a 215 or 810 in that shape. I got a mint 810 used for $400 about 8 years ago and another 810 for $200 a couple of years ago.

When I was in a band doing this stuff I ran two rigs, my swr bass 350 into my poor man's 610 (410+210) and my fender rumble into a 115 with the mids and bass dimed. Ran my fuzzes and distortions into the rumble and left the swr dry.

I have a peavey nitrobass with a 412 tvx for any show I come across, same head with a 115 BVX/ BW for the studio. I cannot get a bad sound out of either rig, and yes I can get grit out of either one. Rock solid and cheap. The 115 I purchased from Guitar Center recently for $99 plus shipping, in great shape condition. It took a while to find it at that price but I finally got it.
Could not be more pleased. These work for me.
