BTW, who care's if it doesn't sound like the album? Who cares if they can't recreate the densely multi-layered harmonies completely live? Studio and live are completely different animals.

I totally agree. This is why Def Leppards use of a sampler drives me crazy. I don't wanna hear the chorus from the cd.. I wanna hear what the band can actually sound like.. and I'd like to hear them learn the harmonies.
 
Ah sorry, I misunderstood you there. Yeah, I think using sampled vocals for the chorus is wrong. Employ some backing singers, just like Queen did. After all, this is who DL were trying to emulate with the wall of vocals sound. But I think the sampler is well used elsewhere, like triggering the war sounds in God's of War.

Although I did always respect Queen for clearing the stage during the middle of Bohemian Rhapsody. It was as if to say 'we can't play this bit live, so we aren't going to try'.
