I was going to say.. as character, Gorilla amps appear to have plenty of personality, but tonally, GK 400RB wins for me

Ampeg BA110. I like the BA112 a little better because it's bigger, but the BA110 is cheaper and does a very respectable job for me as a monitor on some of my gigs. B100R is a KILLER amp if you find one, though.

I was totally surprised when I played one at GC. Brought it home about 8 months ago and I'm still in the honeymoon phase. The voicing of the eq just works for me. It's brought the cops to my house more than once.

My back up Crate has character, in a its almost as big as a 210, lacks power and makes mud come through any cab kind of way

I'm a character, and my MB200 was pretty cheap in the TB classifieds.

But seriously, I've never found any well designed amp from a reputable maker to be lacking of redeeming tone quality. It might not be the tone that I want, but the tone is there. And 99% of the time, I can dial in what I want.

I have a GK 112 combo that I constantly get tone compliments on when playing out. I bought it used, mint for less than $200.

Combos or heads? I though my Hartke LH500 had a lot of great tone, picked it up very cheap on the used market. Ended up selling it strictly due to size and weight.

That amp made a Sterling with steels sound like Barbasol foam when the pressure is running out

I recently bought a Laney RB1 for practice use in the house, its got a good variation of tones and is fairly loud for its 15 watts, the missus has stopped moaning sinceI got it so all good
