A gig with the country band, today is the first carnival of our summer season... in Boonsboro MD
It went great, good crowd, weather was perfect, got my corn dog, no band arguments. Our old drummer, the guy who got me in the band in 2000, showed up. It was good to see him, and he might have some sub work for me.
Also, the guitarist brought his new baby. She's a cute little thing, just a few months old.

Our next gig is this Wednesday, at a Black Angus cattle ranch where they feed us the best steaks I've ever had. I'm definitely bringing a Zip-loc bag! :D

My cover band has had a two week vacation... we're back on this week without an end in sight!

Friday night we're at Perq's in Huntington Beach - great venue - tons of dancing party people!

Saturday night we're at Bar Melody - this dive is near LA-X and had kind of been changing since ownership changed hands - lost more younger crowd and lots of fun! I like being able to run across the street to In-n-Out for a midnight break cheese burger! :bassist:

Turned out to be a Legalize-it rally, I should have known.
It was cloudy and threatening the whole time, but no rain! Stage sound was a bit weird, there was a low-end rumble, but since it was only one set and I wasn't singing, I figured it wasn't worth it to raise a fuss. We made it through, and best of all, I made it in and out of DC in a reasonably timely manner, and nobody stole my stuff. :D
Did I mention I got paid 3 days in advance?
Mission Accomplished.

Right on brother, great cause!

Nobody's workin' this week?
Saturday afternoon vocal job ( I sing bass, so it counts) evening clubdate.
Sunday eve dinner dance.

Last Mondays gig was pretty funny. It was a high school prom for a Yeshiva in NJ, held in a swank catering hall in New Rochelle, NY. It was also ( because of religious reasons) no dancing!!. Played great classic rock ( forgot the last time I played Ohio by CSN+Y) for about 2 of the 4 hours, killed time the rest of the eve.

We're back from a two week hiatus -

Friday night we're at Godmother's Saloon in San Pedro,

Saturday we're in Ventura at The Keynote Lounge...

both places were pretty busy last time we we played and had lots of dancing - should be a fun weekend!

I'm gonna try out my mini rig this weekend - Shuttle 6.0 12T with a GK Neo-112... I'm guessing it's gonna be amazing!

... at the 'Jazzkeller' in Hofheim, near Frankfurt...

Words can't describe how excited I am.

I'll try to remember everything: drinking enough water, bringing spare strings, some basic tools, enough cables for me and the guitarists and all that stuff... Fortunately, the other guys are also quite serious about making our first gig a big success.... So.... we'll see......:hyper:

Best of luck sir! Prepare now and relax there! :hyper:

Playing at the Emerson Hotel in Emerson, NJ ...not really a hotel but a bar/restaurant... no idea why they call it a hotel..

Every once in a while Julio Fernandez from Spyro Gyra jams with us (good friend of our singer) and he's gonna try and make it that night.

Details over the weekend..

Last time he jammed with us...

This week at the Tues standard gig, Zea Rotisserie last night, I played the Peavey 6er for the first time ever at a gig, and what a surprise. The string spacing made a big difference in my playing. I'll be using it much more often.

This weekend I am subbing for the blues band I left earlier this year. Friday at the Olde Sedona Bar & Grille in Sedona, AZ, music starts at 9 pm. Saturday we're at Charly's in the Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff, AZ, downbeat also at 9 pm. Sunday we appear at The Spirit Room in Jerome, AZ, show starts at 3 pm.

Have a great week!
