You wouldn't happen to be the guy in most of your videos who does the playing, would you?

Collect AND play!Dear Dr -
We've been here before many times before and the answer is the same - " Don't do it " - don't become a collector instead of a player - " Gas " is the easy way out - it offers a fast and short lived fix to the problem of bass addiction . Set some goals that are definable in a way beyond mere gear collection - not easily done mind you but perhaps attainable by someone of your inherent skills . The bottom line is there are way more basses that are worth acquiring than there are players capable of putting them to good use - become one of those folks that enhance the bass by skillful playing rather than one of those that merely accumulates . Respectfully - Kelly

It is great advice, I just wish I had heard it in 1987.![]()
Is a player who plays several basses automatically a collector?

Hi Dr -
Your posts are always interesting and honest to yuor feelings and thoughts at the time they're written and I was attempting to humorously , remind you of several older posts you've written decrying the effects of " gas " pains etc . I apologize if my humor didn't come thru as intended . What you buy or indeed whether you buy another bass is certainly , none of my business really . I have just seen an awful lot of TB posts about whether owning this bass or that bass or this amp or that amp -etc will make "the difference " that's holding some player back from becoming really good when we all really know the true solution is to practice more and better . As for your playing - I have definitely , seen the improvement in your video's and commend you for applying yourself with so much diligence . Kelly
Dr, Please check out everything, and report back to us! I live vicariously through you guys, when I can't get out there myself.. Bass-On!
