Funny thing is, I thought the same thing after I saw it posted.
I better go to bed. As soon as I start getting all Mark Wilson, I've obviously spent entirely too much time on TB for one day.
Oh, and Jimmy, it isn't big font day. Stop that.

Wow, I've been looking at too many basses on the net lately. I got this confused (in my head since the auction was pulled) with a similar bass I saw a few days ago that was a PJ with a small metal plate around the pots.Old habits die hard. I automatically, almost subconsciously save any out of the ordinary bass pics on my computer.
He already addressed this. I was just being silly in my previous post about it. His point being that Vinnie worked with Ken and Stuart previous to Fodera and neither builder (at the time, anyway) were doing any Fender like designs resembling the bass in question. That's all.As far as A Spector or BT looking like a weird design I would ask weird to who? Why do people still buy them?
Maybe, but I think you're waaaay over analyzing this.hmm I think you have misconstrued what thepontif said.
To me he's saying if it's any weirder looking than those basses, as in setting a point between Fender and Spector/Ken Smith to which to him the design of the bass would logically fi.
also I assume Vinny wasn't fully toying with the idea of the Single cut basses during the late 70's - early 80's that it would fit as a marker as it were. Correct me if I'm wrong by all means, this is just how I viewed it

Wow, sorry I am so lat to the party gang! Unfortunately I never did get a chance to see this thing! As someone earlier pointed out, Fodera didn't build its first instrument until 1983 and the Fodera bridge came a couple of years after that. Prior to that we used unadorned Schaller bridges...
Anyway, sorry that I missed it!
He'd certainly remember it if he built it if he saw it. No question whatsoever. I wish I'd seen the pics. If they were available Jason would have shown Vinny and that would have cleared it up. I could ask him, but Jason's right there in the shop...much less obtrusive for him to do it.
Just talked to Joey. Without a picture he says he can't say for sure. There were a few "parts" basses they did very early on (before Fodera existed) but none of them were just straight out of the box parts. The bodies would have been modified to some extent.
If anyone can come up with a picture verification is a few clicks away. Might have been a better approach than abushing the seller.......
If it turns out to be legit through some bizarre combination of coincidences some people will have some crow to eat.
i got a big font and i'm gonna use it!

Well....if you haven't got the time.......I don't have time to read the whole thread, but can someone tell me who won at the internetz?
is this your first experience with brad?OK, I have to ask this...
If you had the pictures all along, why didn't you post them ?
You "do" realize that if you simply would have posted these photos earlier in the thread, then there wouldn't have been all this "back and forth" arguing.
Even if you didn't want to POST the pictures, it would have been easy enough to PM them to Just Thumpin', The Pontif, etc when they said things like -

in his spare time, brad works at this clinic:
