TBers gettin first crack at the cream of da crop....anyway....I don't want to violate the posting rules so if you guys want to PM me your lists of model numbers you need I will let him know and go from there....

Man, you could run a business on that kind of stock!!!!!

If you don't.... well I will ha ha ha..

Congratulations on an extraordinary find. .. I will watch this thread with envy heh heh!!

i'm up for a nice set for my SVT2pro, definitely! aw, and a set of GE's for an SVP

Tommixx, I reckon you are gonna have ALOT of good customers. TB are gonna thank you one hulluva mother load!!

This might be enough tubes to drive the prices of the rarer breeds way down. The prices of the NOS tubes aren't as high as they are because they sound great, which they do. They are that high because there aren't that many of them to be had. Supply and demand... If the supply is low, the demand may be very high if it is a sought after commodity. If the supply is high, the demand will not be as severe and 10,000 tubes is quite a supply!

This could possibly make great NOS tubes be the next Electroharmonix, price-wise.

Needless to say though, great find! :hyper:

I have not disappeared....in fact, I have been pretty busy lately and haven't really posted much here in a while....been meaning to update everyone about the find and leave a review on some of my gear as promised.....not enough time in the day if you know what I mean.

Anyway........as far as the find goes heres where we are....I have, on several occasions been over to the warehouse with my Dad to go through some of the hundreds of boxes he has and I have to say that there is, at least on the surface. a treasure trove of stuff in there...I have acquired a number of 12AX7's to "test" whether they are "OK" in my Demeter HBP-1 (I had a GREAT tube that I got from Tom Dowd still in there).....bottom line....they are GREAT too!!

He has gotten a couple of offers from people to buy the whole lot "Lock, Stock, and Barrel" and I don't know yet what we ae going to do! One of the offers was for fair market(to a dealer) after we inventory everything (could take forever!! I have never seen so many in my life) for the whole shebang....and we have gotten I think 3 others for XXXXX.00 for everything (which could be a really good deal for us or for the buyer we don't know yet) We had 1 guy call and offer to catalog, test, and appraise everything but you would NOT BELIEVE what he wanted us to pay him!!!!!!!

I have not forgotten everyones interest and I tell my dad everytime I see him that we need to do something with them but he is not in any hurry it seems (which is probably a good thing) so I guess we are waiting on him (at first he said I could have them but after I told him what I though he had we agreed that it would not be fair to him for me to just take them and he agreed that we should split everything 50-50!!!) I just can't take advantage of someone like that especially my own father..LOL

I will keep you posted as we determine what we are going to do....Thank you for your continued interest....

Peace and Chicken Grease,

TOMMIXX, I think what you need is an all expense paid trip to the west coast and a two week stay at an ocean front condo. That would give you time to think this thing through and decide what is best to do. You don't want to let these tubes fall into the wrong hands, or be wasted in some guitar players Marshall head. And maybe I could try out a set of 6550's.

The better tubes that would be used in out bass amps would most likely have been made in later 50's and early 60's.

Gosh every drug store and and hardware store had tube testers and stocks of the common tubes. I remember that my dad had a big selection so that he could fix our TV.
