Ha ha - Save the Wales. I think you're right. Mine is as yours is, Barden P/u with the EMG BTC. Great bass. Yours looks awesome in Black? Yeah, $700 is a steal. Congrats!
My best deal is a Wal MK 1 Geddy for 950. Some people just don't know what they have their hands on.

It could be transparent liquid aluminum. Nobody's taken the fretboard off to see. They're 80's basses, so it's possible they incorporate some 23rd century whale saving tech. Either that or the T1000, taken from the vat of metal he was melted in.

Grats on the awesome deal on the Wal. I've never even seen one. These days, the internets are making it harder to find such deals; more often somebody has Googled and decided his '09 Squier is was Jamerson's main bass, and priced it accordingly.

Or he is like me, just a big guy with big hands and fingers. Just because he isn't a svelt little bean pole, doesn't mean he has some horrid life threatening disease. Talk about jumping to conclusions!!!!

He's managed not to die of liver failure in the 20 or so years since that pic was taken. Not too bad a run. It couldn't just be that like millions of others, as he's aged he's gotten a little "fat and swollen" himself. I don't know for sure either way, I'm not a digitologist.

And some people have to screw bottle openers onto their basses. What's wrong with having one built in?

Jim Mouradian is a great guy and a Craftsman, he is also a Bass Player and a huge Yes Fan that is how that Bass came to be in Chris's hands, started with a rug, the story is here somewhere on TB.

Jim worked on my Basses quite a few times, he and his son have a shop now in Winchester, MA. That is a great score in my opinion and I would love to have one of those!!

Yes, it's truly a great instrument. very easy to play, super fast neck. Great Pickups with a killer range of tones. I 've been looking for one for years and they just don't come up for sale. I don't know how many they made, but I would bet it's not many. Jim and Jon are great guys and do excellent work. This bass is one of my faves.
