Indeed! However, the best combinations for record companies (okay, recording distribution businesses today) are those that are good looking (in someone's opinion) for stage presence AND have chops to spare. Personally, for me, it's all about the music...the personification of the soul. For the younginz out there, the person has to be hot first, and musical second (and if anyone hasn't noticed, it's the younginz that have the most disposable income of any age group). Attractiveness also has something to do with one's orientation, but, truthfully, that is also a matter of age. With age comes wisdom and experience, and beauty and good looks fade. At my age, I'd rather sit in a room with a player with fantastic chops to see what I can learn rather than with a young, attractive (some might say hot) student of the instrument who knows roots and eighth notes. For some college kids I know, however, just the opposite is their reality. Some of the best musicians I know aren't attractive - which is why they're studio musicians.
As for your myspace, anyone who plays a maple fingerboard is OK in my book. Your photo (if that is your real photo) purports you to be a very attractive person - so let's hear some basschops rather than singing and lead guitar and disprove my theory.
