Love it! But now we need a carrot one, too. And waffles - we need one for waffles, as well.

More carrot, less lemon? More lemon, less carrot? Forget the fruits and vegetables, let's just have WAFFLES!!

there are those who would say, including me, that I'm a nice, thick bottom.

Didn't i mention that pulling out the bass knob put the pre in 'extra thick' mode? You know that, with any CWB 'electronics', there has to be a Deej circuit. :)

Ya'll are in awesome form tonight. I'm torturing myself writing tabs (my memory's not that great anymore and writing it down makes it stick) and the forum company is greatly appreciated.

I don't write tabs, since most of the guitarists I play tend to play the wrong chord half the time, so I just watch their hands so I can make them sound good at a half step high or low. Then we pretend it was jazz.

All -

I've been lurking since the thread started. There is so much awesome here, from everyone.

I've encouraged my 12 year old daughter to read the thread with me (contingent on my previewing it, of course....:D ) - because I want to foster the kind of inclusive, welcoming spirit that most everyone has shown here.

Deej, TBird, Sam, tHand - hell, everyone - cheers. Oh! and...

New keyboard. You can Paypal me.:D

Welcome her in!!!!

I learned to read music when I was a kid (piano, flute, sax), then took many years away from music while life was happening. Ergo, I forgot most of the music I actually did learn to read. I never learned to play by ear and I'm having to learn that now (I'm such a total bass n00b - right at six months of seriousness and have never gigged). I've never played guitar so watching their hands would likely result in only a lot more confusion.

I have been lucky - when I fill in for my buddy's band at rehearsals if I position myself just so, I can see the drummer's foot (anticipation) and hear the keyboard player when he tells me what key he's going to go to next. When I mess up, they laugh at me and we move on. It's all in good fun. Every now and again, I'll do something right. That's when they add something new for me to learn.

I tend to follow two key rules.

1) Root notes are my friend when I don't know what else to do.

2) If I mess up, playing it twice makes it a new arrangement and not a mistake.

There is absolutely no need to rationalize pervertables. They're my favorite toys. You'd be surprised at how many cool fun pervertable things you can find the most unsuspecting stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Staples, the kitchen gadget aisle of any store that sells such things, and of course, Hobby Lobby). Not to mention, you can leave those things lie around anywhere and even your most conservative neighbor would never suspect. :D

Ah yes, Home Depot. My favorite adult store.
