Chorus For Bass. Am I Insane?

Greetings, Bass People.

While researching the market for a Tuner, and Compressor, I've discovered people really digging on a Chorus.

Any Favorites of yours?

Any thoughts?

I love the Moog MF Chorus. Here is a slow chorus on a bass chord. The switching noise was from the power supply of another pedal.

I can’t tell if I love or hate the Boss DC-2W, it is subtle, and I’m not subtle.

I do for sure like the EHX Small Clone (simple) and the Boss CEB-1 (versatile).

but chorus is one of my least used effects, but it’s the hardest for me to decide on.

EDIT: I also have the TC Corona, and with the TonePrint feature it gets very overwhelming very quickly.

Analogman or Providence on the pricier side. EHX Bass clone is also great. I haven't tried the Juliana or Julia,

I recommend you try the Zoom B1 Four. It has a built-in tuner, multiple compressor options, multiple chorus options, and tons of other effects that you can chain in any way you like. Sounds good, too.

For bass modulation I use a Fulltone Deja Vibe set to vintage & chorus. So no, to answer your question. Want to know what sounds better than chorus on bass? Flange. I set my rates slow and the depth high to get a satisfying pulse/wobble.

Walrus Audio Julia or Julianna

There are great deals on the V1 Julia right now. Many beleive this to be one of the best chorus pedals currently made.

That's one of the units I have been looking at.

The sounds are good, and the price is certainly right.

Walrus Julia. I LOVE it for bass. It also does tremolo/vibrato but I keep it mostly on the chorus side. It's my favorite chorus that I've used. Plus the color is cool. It matches my board!
Julia holds the position of honor below the other most important "effect".

Second the Zoom multi nomination.

B3, B3n, something similar will give you a huge bang for the buck, for about the price of one dedicated pedal.

I highly recommend the Ovnilab Smoothie for a comp, but it will be $200 if you can find one.

The Zoom will have three or four comps to play with. You’ll get a feel for what you like or need in a comp. The B3 has a number of nice chorus effects, along with phasers, octaves, autowahs, dirt, amp models, cabs.....

Same with the other effects, plus you’ll get your tuner, beats, a looper, interface, di, and a boatload of other effects. It’s a Swiss Army knife for bass. A practice station with great headphone sound.

Most all my single effects have come and gone, except the smoothie. I work with a B3 or my line 6 HD500x and in ears.

For tuners, I like the mini headstock from planet waves.

Just get a Southampton Utility Knife and you get a killer chorus and if you ever need it, a phaser, flanger and trem.
