Chorus For Bass. Am I Insane?

I bought a Boss Chorus, the old, brown pedal. I've used it on fretless for those slow ballads for decades and I still use it to this day. I'd like to try out some others but bass chorus pedals are not high on the list for local stores, we're lucky they have any bass gear at all.

The only effect I like on bass that isn't comp or OD!

The Keeley Seafoam + is my favorite. Quiet, has a bass setting, and is three choruses in one.

i typically used the double track setting to thicken my sound a bit for bridges and the like..

Greetings, Bass People.

While researching the market for a Tuner, and Compressor, I've discovered people really digging on a Chorus.

Any Favorites of yours?

Any thoughts?

Chorus is a gateway to an 80's vibe. Occasionally fun at home, but never used one on a rehearsal, gig or record.

Ironically, I could say the same about slap bass :D

Nevertheless, my chorus pedal of choice is Aguilar Chorusaurus.

If Chorus is a step backwards, which effect, if any, would you consider a step forward?

That's one of the units I have been looking at.

The sounds are good, and the price is certainly right.
Had a Boss CE2-B for many years (decades!) but it eventually died - :( . Replaced it with an EHX Bass Clone and love it. Lovely for a subtly chorus shimmer (and loads of other great tones in there too). The crossover and bass control are really useful features.

the best chorus pedal I tried was the Jam waterfall.
I did not buy one though as it isn't cheap and I get close enough with either shallow water or A/DA pbf.

I didn't intend to down-talk chorus. Anything that makes a sound can be used to tell your story - as long as it matches the story. If chorus helps you do that, go for it!

I can't answer the question because I don't see backward or forward. I see only story telling.

Chorus never helped my humble stories though.
