Chorus For Bass. Am I Insane?

Greetings, Bass People.

While researching the market for a Tuner, and Compressor, I've discovered people really digging on a Chorus.

Any Favorites of yours?

Any thoughts?

I like a bunch - The BOSS CE-2B, CE-1, DC-2W, etc. If you want to go totally crazy though, try the BF-2B as well - it really gets into the ballpark of that pulpy Leslie tone in a way that a chorus doesn't. You can dial in that Black Hole Sun sound on bass by putting a delay into your chain as well!

While everyone has their opinions, my favorite has the be the Mr. Black Vintage Ensemble Deluxe. It's so good. And I have tried a lot of chorus. and it looks, really good too!

I have a TC Corona. Easy to dial in to whatever you need - in my case, a nice, subtle effect.

There are great deals on the V1 Julia right now. Many beleive this to be one of the best chorus pedals currently made.

Is the v2 not better? I have the Walrus phaser, name escapes me now, and it is very good but not great. I think my old script reissue phase 90 is better, albeit with a slight volume drop.

I really like the Digitech Bass Multi Chorus. Other people also must like it too because it was only $30 used when I bought mine and now the price has climbed to $50+

I really liked my Warped Vinyl, but actually settled on a BBE Mind Bender for its simplicity and great tone. The Boss Super Chorus is another awesome budget friendly option. It was my first pedal ever.

I'd much rather a chorus with a bass and treble eq option, I've found that very useful for matching. The chorus I use is an EHX Bass Clone, I use the eq option on that quite a bit.

Analogman or Providence on the pricier side. EHX Bass clone is also great. I haven't tried the Juliana or Julia,

Providence Anadime is best bass chorus ive found, I do wish it had some kind of blend but other than than its amazing, for chorus at least. Can be had from 135 up

I swear by my Arion Fat Chorus (Stereo). Nice and vintagey! The tone control is out of this world. It almost act as a preamp.

The chorus this creates is that Jaco type chorus.

I had the MXR chorus for years. Never really found a musical way to use it. I just got the Chorusarus by Aguilar. I hope to get some cool sounds useful in a band context from it.

I find it kind of mysterious that it has a "speed one" and a "speed two" knob. Like a car that will run at two different speeds at the same time.

It changes speeds like a Leslie. It ramps up or down when you switch speeds. Not mysterious and not two speeds at the same time. This was a great pedal but it did have a hiss problem

as others have said a multi ( Zoom B1 Four in my case, you get a lot of other useful goodies here as well and it's easy to play with tones using the software if you're into that )

• Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl (the blend knob is a nice feature for bassists, plus you get all sorts of creative features including ramping and presets)
• JAM Waterfall Chorus (bass version)
• Markbass Chorus/Flanger

I like to use chorus after dirt. Turning it on for a bridge or the last chorus of a song really thickens up one's sound and helps one turn things up to eleven, as it were. Of course, there also all those classic '80s bass chorus sounds one can do as well.

Very close second: Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus

Another vote for the JAM Waterfall Bass or the JAM Ripply Fall Bass for a Chorus/Phaser combo. You can run the chorus and phaser separately or combined.
