Chorus w/out the detuning effect?

I've heard the Dimension D (what the DC-2 is based on) on guitar – SRV, for example – but someone in another thread mentioned the Dimension C is too subtle for bass in a live setting. Any bass clips?

I'd still like to get one and try it for myself.

I just came across the slight doubling chorus effect thingy in the Zoom series...

MS-60B & the MS-70CDR both have "BA-DETUNE" or "bass detune" and the MS-70CDR also has simply "Detune" without the "bass" in the title.

"By mixing a small an effect sound that is slightly pitch-shifted with the original sound, this effect type has a chorus effect without much sense of modulation"

Interestingly, the B3 offers "Detune" but not the "Ba Detune".

yes on the Zoom Detune, which was going to be my suggestion. Lots of control, sounds great.

Anyone ever try a Neunaber effects pedal?

I am surprised there hasn't been really any bassists that have embraced Neunaber. I guess the price tag is a huge leap. I did manage to get a demo of their chorus:



The best thing I think about their lineup is you can switch the effect types via USB. So if yu bought the chorus, but needed a reverb for a gig you can change it very easily and not buy another pedal.

I used the Fromel Lush on bass for a while. It sounded good, especially in stereo which is where those things really shine, but in the end I'm just not a big fan of chorus so I sold it.

I'm thinking typical chorus isn't really for me, but I'm just not familiar with a lot of these other types of "modulation" effects. I do own an old Boss RV-2 reverb pedal and it sounds good, but of course it just provides reverb.

I recently got a TC Electronics Corona Chorus. I had a chorus pedal many years ago and

overused it and burnt myself out on hearing that effect. So now I'm only liking this chorus pedal when the effect is just barely audible, without the detuning being too noticeable.

Is there a type of effect (doubling ?) that isn't reverb but expands the sound similar to the chorus set very mild.

I don't know much about effects, but the delay pedals I've tried didn't really do it for me either.

Any input is appreciated.

I would check out the TC hof reverb or the Hardwire rv-7 they both have a modulating setting. I had the rv-7 for a bit and always kept it on that setting. Definetly a pedal I regret selling. With both the modulation is only applied to the reverb trail and not the original note. So it adds the "effect" of a chorus to the reverb only , without altering your original tone. Kind of like if you split your signal and ran one dry and the other through a chorus and ducking reverb then combined them back together. It was really nice for jazzy lead type playing and playing chords.

Cluster flux can do a static detune. Mf chorus might be able to for a better price and smaller footprint
