First thing would be to establish the center line of the top and draw a line the whole length. This line will also give the center line of the pup and bridge placement. If you have a router template, attach it to the top with double back tape, on the center line, with the heel end setback 3.875" from the from edge for a standard Fender neck
When you realize you have an addiction to fiddling with knobs and flipping switches.

Got all the pot and switch holes drilled, I spaced them out more then the previous picture, I mismeasured by about 1/32" on the last pot and the chicken head knob can't make a full rotation without hitting the soundhole cover so it's raised slightly. I was half tempted to move the output jack to the side and add a red kill switch but I decided I would be to busy worrying about intonation to use it.

No problem, I've used it for headstock decals, twelfth fret "inlays", and side dots before also, I wouldn't recommend using it without a finish over it on an instrument as the ink could scratch off, that said I've had the sticker on the back of my main bass in my avatar for a couple months and it looks new stillRight on, Thanks
For sure on the top coat. I have used the cover of a comic book with good results in the past. A friend wanted Thor on his pickguard, so we gave it a shot. Came out pretty good.
It is now is a bass shaped object, routed the neck and pickup cavity tonight and bolted on the neck, I still have to drill for the tuners, install the pickup and wire her up.

For now a pic of it assembled sans pickup.
I need to get a new pot for the treble cut because I cut the wrong side to get a no load and I might switch the bass cut cap for a smaller value, but other then that it sounds really good, lots of tonal variation to be had.

So I've been looking at the picture above and I've been thinking it looks kind of bare in the upper/middle area, and I was thinking of putting the sticker that my other basses have on their backs on the front, you can see it on my main bass in my avatar, the make tea not war sticker, but I don't know if it would be too cluttered. Thoughts?
It is bare, but depending on how you play, you might end up damaging or peeling that sticker. What about a pick guard of sorts?
I think you need to add a smoke machine, more switches, and some flashing lights. Have the smoke and lights come out your sound holes. Use the switches to trigger the smoke and lights.

, nah it's not high enough output for passive distortion. After thinking a bit more I would be covering it when I played anyway so I think the sticker will be put elsewhere, the backs already taken so probably on one of the sides.I think I'm going to leave it bare for now, I don't foresee playing much with a pick so no need for a pickgaurd.
That's a really good idea I think I have some maple scraps laying around somewhere too. I wouldn't use it that much tho, most of the time I play with a floating thumb.

Even if you don't use it it'll break up the line. I'd put it about 1/3 off of center so it didn't look too symmetrical.
