Did you get the one on Cincy craigslist? And do you still have the valenti?

Nope, traded it for the Elrick. That Fodera I played at the show made me GAS for some more exotic woods and stuff. I'm going to get her modded with a pair of Aeros in the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

Very cool... I'm thinking about heading up there for it.

If I do make it, these items will be coming with me:

It would be cool to meet in person, also to play that 64 p-bass!!

PLEEEEZE!!! Try your best to make it. That Nordy and Benevente look like they need my attention.

This one. I'm going to add another pickup in the bridge position and probably swap out the Nordstrand with a pair of Aeros, kind of looking like a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with the pickups spaced so closely like that and that close to the bridge.

Good gosh, how many TB'ers have owned that!! I remember it belonging to Tumbao a while back when it had a Bart p/u where the nord is.

I love TK's sound, that was what I was going for when I had this one built:
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

But the p/up placement wasn't just right... It is now in Aussi-land and fretless.

As much as Im excited for this, 4 things always worry me.

1. My gear doesnt stack up to most of you guys.
2. My skill doesnt.
3. My age doesnt.
4. MY GAS goes crazy.

1. Doesn't matter. You'll be there to try out other people's gear. This isn't a contest...is it?

2. Skill? Who cares? It's all about the basses. :)

3. Age? Again, who cares? It's a get-together, just for fun.

4. That happens with most of us. :)

As a side note, the Cincy Guitar show over at Kings Island convention center is the 28th. If we do it on the 27th and I can convince Daryl Jones to crash at my place for a day and a night we may be able to get the Indy Bass Hoarder to bring out his collection for a "previewing". BTW, regardless of the date, would it be kosher of me to bring the massive collection I'm selling off to the GTG? at this point it's a few moduluses (moduli?), a Zon, a few musicmen, a few fenders, etc, etc.

I have one of those Moduli at my house for a few days. It is an okay bass. Justin, I'll give a dollar for it. :)

I kid! The door to my music room is locked so my 4 and 2 year old cannot sneak in there and touch that Modulus. It is worth more than all of my instruments values combined.

I am unsure if this is an awesome thing, or very, very sad.

Maybe even a few other things, if it works out right I'll be able to bring a van full of goodies.

:hyper:

That's what I'm talkin' about. We have pretty similar tastes. :D

Hmmm... and I just might be able to bring some amps that will make that old Fender feel right at home. ;)

OK we're a go for March 27th. If someone still has the directions, please forward them to all interested parties.

We'll go from 2-6. The owner said he doesn't care about any renumeration, so no charge.

Damn! I was hoping to bring a half dozen or so rigs and a helper; make a project out of the Cincy GTG this year. On the 20th I could have probably got it together, but my big van will be full of PA gear for a gig on the 27th and while I can probably wrangle a way to make the GTG, but if so I'll only have a Jeep Liberty available to haul with.
So, with the size limitations posed by the Jeep...

This;

or this?; (I don't have room for a pair of 2000S cabs in the Jeep)

or possibly 2 or 3 little rigs.

Personally, I think the refurbished 2000S rig has the most "cool factor", certainly a good plast from the past for any vintage aficionados (and much easier to move by virtue of the casters).
It sounds like there will be an abundance of basses there already.

Regretfully, my Reeves gear (including some proto cabs) will be loaded in the big van from 2-6 on the 27th. There's an outside chance I could borrow another C225 head, but they are currently backordered and shipping as fast as they can be built. If there's one available I'll bring it.

hey chad - youll be pleased to know that I have now had the honor of experiencing your johnson firsthand, justin does good work :D feels and sounds great, although I feel slightly mislead, it looked so much bigger in the pictures ;)

Im sorry i have a serious lack of self control. Stopping for good now

On another note, glad to see we got the date nailed down, also kudos to whoever it was that picked a building not even 15 minutes from my house :p
