wow caeman your johnson just towers over the rest of them in that picture! i had no idea it was so big and black!

ok im sorry i was gone for a while i had to get my last one in. done now.

however dont think that it will not be mentioned when i finally have the pleasure of experiencing your johnson firsthand.

ok now im done.

Great wasn't it! Mainly from Ed's old Sunn rig! I wish I could afford that!

I wish I could LIFT that. I'd have to hire some pallbearers to carry it to the gigs. :D

PS - there are some people who look at this stuff at work and all the obscenities aren't necessarily a great thing for the IT guys to stumble across!

I was thinking that too. But dang, I wish I could get paid to read Talkbass. :D

Never loose sight of your dreams!

BTW, I've been lurking on here and should toss in my list of stuff I'll bring. I've been thinning the herd a bit lately:

Fanned Fret Acacia 5ers (x2)
Semi hollow Benavente SCD fretless
Mark Bass Little mark tube 800
Bthrem's Schroeder 210212
maybe the overboard pedal board.

As a side note, I've opened a small repair shop just up Hauck road from the GTG site, inside the Toedtman School of music and would love to have anybody over before/after the GTG who would like to check it out or have some work done. :) (shameless plug)

Cool, John Toedtman is a smokin' player and a great teacher. Are you doing guitar/bass repairs?

I wonder if I should put on new strings before this gig. I have been using the same strings for 2 years now. I am not a particularly hard player. I prefer to crank up the volume and use a light touch. All of the strings are as clean as they day I bought it. No grimey bass for me.

Yup, guitar, bass, and acoustic guitar repair. And I'll add that John is an incredible player, and I'm lucky enough to say I've studied with him longer then anybody; I was his first student :)

Modulus, Id be willing to pay a little bit if you would setup my fretless to perfection. It probably needs its nut cut a little, and possibly a shim, but if you could do it for me before the GTG it would be awesome! That way we could play it instead of worrying about setting it up.

If not, I understand, but you said if anyone needed wrk... :D

so have other people besides justin been studying with john? I started with him 3-4 years ago (honestly cant remember exactly how long) still go there every saturday. And btw i did NOT actually mean for that last little pun that you pulled out of there. get your mind out of the gutter :). Also i was able to stop by justins new shop, wish i could have messed around with some of the toys down there but my mom felt the need to tag along, and was impatiently waiting in the car :rollno:

And Justin i vote you bring that monster of a pedalboard. i havent gotten to play with it in probably a year now

I took a few lessons with him Several years ago but was not ready to learn yet. He is a really great player and very nice guy. Been tossing around the idea of taking some lessons again and was wondering if he was still teaching in the area. Guess the answer is Yes.

If anyone has John's contact info and rates could you please PM me?

Thanks,
Andy
