Low G on a .158? I'm not surprised. You should get a .182 or .190 and give it a shot. It's wonderful.
If I ever join a band that plays in drop C, I'm definitely going to have to get myself a nice, heavy low G string.
Now that I'm recalling, I think Skip suggested something heavier- maybe even the .166 for G but I told him if I settled in on that tuning I'd probably switch it up.
I really just like the octave position for the B and A strings though which is why I don't go down to G.
Knowing what I know about these products however, I can imagine it'd be earth shattering lol.
