Circle of fifths app ?

Studying the circle, and found this app. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the 3rd(innermost) circle is. Nor do I know what the degree looking symbols are. Can someone please drop a line explaining it? Thanks!

The little circle indicates a diminished chord.

Thank you. It dawned on me the 3rd circle note is the 2nd note of the 2nd circle scale. If that makes sense. ex., B# minor 2nd note is C.

I made some Circle of Fifth exercises for myself. Maybe useful for folks here to:



Follow the whole circle of fifths on one string and play root notes on every first beat. Start with the lowest E on the E-string. Play until the 12th fret. Follow the guides!

LEVEL 1 is in 60 BPM, or you could also say it's 120 BPM but you count 8 times instead 4 for the new note to come in. LEVEL 2 is the same groove, but then the changes occur much faster. LEVEL 3 will be uploaded later.

If D and G-string are difficult you can of course always do the exercise with only E and A string until you master them (worked for me)

half diminished (min7b5) would be a circle with a slash through it ( ø ) but it needs a 7th to be such.
I think in this case, the indicated chords on the chart are triads.
