Yes, I bet he is pretty busy. He has a Facebook page too. i think he still post stuff here on TB too.
It's guys like Wilser Ramirez who were once very active and have moved on to other things. I always liked Wilser's work and hope he's doing well . I tried to find his website a while back and it's gone. It's too bad...I learned a lot from watching his youtube stuff and build threads.

Thanks! Still unsure what the finish will be. I may stick with cardinal nitro but I'm open to doing something different.

Here's the body after rough cutting it with the bandsaw.

After routing the profile with a template and pattern bit.

Wetted with some denatured alcohol to see how the grain may look with finish.

No time card. I just work on them whenever I can so punching in and out would get to be a pain. I couldn't tell you exactly how many hours I put into it at this point. It was refinished and put away.

Thanks...I believe the top was about 1/4 in.

Most of the time building is spent waiting on stuff to dry, like glue or paint. After that its finish work, like prepping, sanding, polishing.

Actual wood work, the most enjoyable part for me, IME goes by very quickly

I was thinking about that, the stuff drying etc..., seems like it would be a good idea to have several projects going at once so you can rotate tasks.
As far as the time card goes that makes for tricky paperwork, I use a little pocket notebook.

i meant to keep track of actual hands on time, you might be surprised at how many hours really putting in.

My limit is two at a time, and I much prefer to focus on one build at a time. I have a day job, and the occasional repair that keep me pretty busy, and I refuse to be one of those guys that gets back logged to the point that I can't complete a build in a reasonable time frame. For me this is supplemental income, I do this because I love it, and its my passion. If I had to depend on it to make a living that could possibly change.

After storing this bass for a while I decided to make a new neck for it. The original neck had a problem. It may have been the density or the laminates. Either way I wasn't happy with it. It had a very understated almost dead sound to it...it did not resonate well. So Ive started a new one for this bass. It's getting the same gold evo Fretwire. I've changed it to 34" scale. It's birdseye maple and Walnut, a Claro Walnut headplate with a black veneer back strap. Flat fingerboard and an asymmetrical profile. Side dots are brass stock to keep with the gold theme.
