Yes, I bet he is pretty busy. He has a Facebook page too. i think he still post stuff here on TB too.
It's guys like Wilser Ramirez who were once very active and have moved on to other things. I always liked Wilser's work and hope he's doing well . I tried to find his website a while back and it's gone. It's too bad...I learned a lot from watching his youtube stuff and build threads.

Spent today doing some final polish and assembling the bass. I put the preamp in but haven't wired everything up yet. It's really just a test fit. I still need to work on the nut and do the fretwork. I put on a mixed set of old strings and played for a few minutes and it sounds nice to me. Should play nicely after a full set up.

This is my first time working with an Audere preamp. But for the wiring, the thing is tiny. Very easy to install. I'm also very impressed with how they package this preamp. If it sounds as good as I am hoping I will definitely be using them in the future.

My feeling exactly. When I received the two preamps I first ordered I was impressed with the care it had gone into assembling, packaging and adding all the optional items one can desire. I too thought - If this sounds half as good as it looks we are in business. I just tested the first one and ordered two more. It's really a great product.

Thanks Randyt! I've become a bigger fan of Walnut with this build.

Miz- I appreciate that Audere took extra protective measures by putting the preamp in a static shield bag. Along with providing dress nuts/washers in chrome, black and gold...it's the little things that stand out. Tells me they are a smart company who wish to minimize headaches for their customers and themselves.

I had a chance to wire up the preamp today and play for a bit. I love it. I'm very pleased with how it sounds paired with the Bartolini pickups. Also on the plus side, this bass plays great. There is only one slightly high fret. So the fretwork and final set up wont take much. Til next time...

Did some final wet sanding last night and buffed out the finish today. I'm hoping to get the shielding done and install the rest of the components this week. Ill keep y'all posted.

Sanded to 2000 grit and followed it up with MicroMesh to 12000.

Then took it to the buffer. Polished with stewmac fine compound then Meguiars swirl remover.

Thanks Jonny5bass, both flamed maple and figured Walnut can look spectacular under the right finish.
