Granted, this is home audio speakers, but seeing Marshall integrate smart home technology is an interesting development.
Well, let’s see, most drivers can easily hit db to destroy your ears, so going beyond that limit is futile. FOH can damage your ears and you can feel the bass 100 yards away at an outdoor stadium concert so going beyong that is futile.
A cone can’t push more air than is contacting it’s surface area. No matter what you do. More excursion results in more volume of air and that’s possible, but then see above.
There is little left other than making them indestructible and more efficient (superconductors), but the two above truths still hold.
That Cadillac is pretty cool. I've got one of the first commercially available versions of that idea. The last year of the three they were made for. Anyone care to take a guess??

Yep, except mine is a Galaxie. They sort of introduced the Galaxie mid '59. My father bought this car in about '78. She's been a part of the family for quite a while now. Beatrice is her name.

A few years ago I was running my SVT-II and 8x10 and had started going down the road of using my BA210v2 and a 1x12” extension (getting the full 450w out of the 210) for small bars and then I also have a Tech21 VT-500 (class d) and two 1x12” cabs for maybe slightly bigger spaces. By using the smaller options for live shows, I could leave the big, heavy (and AWESOME!!) SVT-II/810 at the rehearsal space and I could fit either of the two smaller options in the trunk of my car, so I didn’t have to empty my work truck to load the big gear in. I’m in a power trio and these two small options sounded fine for any venue we play. I liked the convenience of leaving the rig set up at the studio, having everything fit in the trunk of the car (out of site, out of mind). THEN, our younger guitar player quit and an ole buddy of mine joined up. At that time (a year and a half or so ago) I was 51 and he was 56, and he has always been super into the look of things. With plenty of subtle hints, he reminded me how cool the old SVT and silver face cabinets look and of course you can’t beat the sound. Even my ‘80’s rack mount SVT-II was too modern looking to him. So I found a silver grille for my ‘89 8x10, and picked up not one, but 2 old SVT’s, a ‘69 (6146’s) and a ‘73. I also had Fliptops make me a vintage looking sealed 4x10. I love the old stuff, and with the 4x10” option, I can still get everything in my car. This long story is basically mostly about stage appearance, with benefit of the best bass sound IMHO. But I also understand that I’m old, and most of the kids these days don’t really get that feeling when they see a stage set up with vintage gear, a real drum kit. I will mostly continue to lug one of the old SVT’s up on stage and enjoy my tone while I play until I can’t lift it anymore, but the option for the class d stuff is good to have.
And, no matter what, some younger player will always come up and check out the old stuff I’m running and give a quick “cool”, and sometimes ask about it.
The best part is when I backline, and they get to play through it, and they go, “wow, that was awesome,”.
Being a rock bass player, the gear is part of the show.
I will admit, where I live (SF Bay Area-super tech land), it unfortunately feels there are less and less kids playing, and/or going to see original rock bands, and the time for doing what I love, and playing the music I feel for, is drawing to a close. People that like good loud hard rock originals are older like me and not going out as much, and around here, that trend feels like it is accelerating fast. The tech kids around here just don’t care for that old timer rock and roll.....
And, no matter what, some younger player will always come up and check out the old stuff I’m running and give a quick “cool”, and sometimes ask about it.

Last Friday I was playing in a band doing some Rolling Stones and when we started doing them all the 20-somethings got up and danced, quite vigorously, too. I think the Stones music must have the "Keith Richards: effect, being that nothing can kill it.
Yes, the joy of having a heart attack taking it/them up a flight or more of stairs to a stage the club owner thought would be awesome on the second floor.
I think that's awesome.
And further into the future:
Next they need to put electrified grates on the stage floor so the audience can press a button to get the bass player moving when he just stands there in front of his non-amp using his IEMs just grooving his butt off.
No bass player will be able to overcome the volume emanating from the guitar player's 300-lb, 15-watt, 112, "Voice From Hell" guitar amp, as said guitarist searches for "his tone."
New microphones will have the latest wireless technology, including a switch on which the singer can, with a single button-press: silence every instrument and other vocalist onstage, increase the vocalist's volume to 120 db, pitch-correct it while adding the correct lyrics, and also introduce 5 kHz of "repli-feedback" to simulate that "live" feel.
US manufacturers will tire of having their stuff made overseas, and China will emerge with a full and complete new line of everything for every musician, each a perfect copy of all the gear that was made by the aforementioned US manufacturers, but each costs only 5 cents apiece. Sold through Amazon.
And finally, every bass amp will have it's own Keurig, which I need to go visit now.

My parents were children when the Rolling Stones were last relevant. People continue to play and listen to Bach to this day, that doesn't mean that the people of the future are going to want to regress to make music the way that Bach did.
Name me an New artist today that can pack a stadium for 50 years running. Relevant. Lol
I'll say it again: last Friday we packed the floor when we played two Stones songs.
