Double Bass Class of 2012, where are you applying/auditioning?

I'm auditioning in Boston the first weekend in February, Bu on Friday then NEC on Monday I think. I'm looking forward to seeing the schools, I haven't gotten the chance to visit either yet.

I didnt realize there was that big of a bass scene in canada. I live right across the border in Michigan, but i didnt realize it was as big over there.

Well to be honest the biggest bass section at any school in Canada I've heard of is U of T, with 6, but yeah, there's a few of us. It's a relatively tight community.

Nice nice. Yeah Barker is my top also. He's probably everyone's top choice haha. I put Wolfe as my second.
Do you much about his studio? Is it mostly grads or anything?

I really have no idea what the situation is in Boston, who's taking students, etc. I did hear yesterday however that Max Dimoff only has one opening in his CIM studio, but this was just from another student who is auditioning so I'm not sure.

I really wish there was some way of knowing. I know they don't take many but knowing around how many that number actually is would be nice.

Cool, by the way guys I just got a confirmation email from Curtis saying I will be scheduled with an audition, it was sort of a confirmation but not very specific so I'm wondering if that's all the more screening beofre the audition or if there is still a chance I won't be scheduled, anybody else get this email?

I got the conformation letter also but I think it says that there will be some sort of follow up email or letter with the exact information at least a month before your actual audition.

It's a pretty late audition, march 9-10th. It's my last audition which will be nice.
