Classic Vibe P Bass or Vint. Mod Squier?

So i have some money to spend and i was thinking of getting a new bass.

Since i already have a jazz bass i was thinking of getting a p bass.

I play mostyly acid jazz and funk.

So which should i get a Fiesta Red CV (£273.56)
or a
Amber Vint. Mod (£261.92)
or a
Olympic White Vint. Mod (£221.18)

Me personally, I would go for the amber VM P, mostly as a match to my VM Jazz, but that's me. As far as what YOU should get, seriously, that's for YOU to decide. People on the internet who don't know you can't tell you which one you should get. Whichever one of those particular Squier basses "speaks" to you, that's the one you should get. They're all good quality instruments.
One thing you can try, besides actually trying them in a store (always the best way to tell), imagine yourself playing each one, and see which one makes you smile. Simplistic, but it works. (for me, at least)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've been really lucky so far , though, but I did my research. MY suggestion is, read as many user (and other type) reviews, forum posts, and the like as you can about the particular basses you're interested in. I must have read about 300 or so such articles before I bought my VM J. Ignoring posts from newbie players who say simplistic stuff like "This bass ROXX!!!", pay attention to those posts from veterans who go into a little more detail , and after a while you'll get a sense of what you might expect from a particular bass. I've done well so far doing this. Of course a little good luck helps.

To me, the neck on the CV is very different -- very vintage feeling. Seemed much more comfortable in my hands. Also (and this may be just my perception) the fretboard radius seemed smaller and the frets did also. Felt very vintage. I've played 2 or 3 of the VMs and didn't get that feeling at all.

Oh, and the CV is definitely worth the little extra cash. I wouldn't modify anything other than the strings if (when) I pick one up.

Just my $0.02.

I personaly prefer the classic vibes to the vm's, though they are both worth much more than thier cost. I think the big diffrence is wether or not you like a gloos on the back of the neck, which the classic vibes have. the cv's neck is glossier and has smaller frets. I'd say the big diffrences are the neck.

I personally have a squier VM bass and for me, so far so good. The satin finish on the VM neck suits me very well, since I have particularly sweaty hands, and the glossy finish on the CV sort of "clings" to my hand.

YMMV.

I'm not sure about the amber model, but I really like the matte finish on the VM neck (I have the white one that someone pulled the frets out of).

But my CV is my main player (because it has frets and a DiMarzio pickup).

But the CV PUP is in my VM.

And I like them both.

And I have been drinking.

And I'm not being helpful. But they are both awesome.
