Cliff Burton pic

I'm a total Ric fanboy and this post had me laughing. Shag carpet and wood paneling, we should see if John Hall will hook it up!

Appears to me that Connie is keeping these priceless basses in a STORAGE UNIT.:crying:
Those basses are invaluable like Jamerson's Funk Machine or Jaco's Bass of Doom. Someone would give their left (and probably right) nut for those things.

Here's Connie with Cliff's bass and guitar:

And the guitar he got from Aria:

Cliff's bass in its case:

I also had a '84 Black 'n Gold I, extremely nice bass!
It pains me that she apparently keeps these in storage locker. Not good. Hopefully they won't be stolen or worse yet end up on an episode of Storage Wars on TV.

I'm pretty sure he got a SB1000 (the active one) and two Black 'n Gold basses. Lars Ulrich had one and its has been up for display a couple times, that's the one with the PJ Marx pickup. Connie (his sister) has the other Black 'n gold and a guitar he got from Aria. Not sure about this, but the SB 1000 could be in the Hall of fame on display (iirc I saw a picture)

The Alembic was stolen a couple of months after he got it, he left it against his car and when he returned it was gone... :-(
He used it at the end of '84, I'm pretty sure this is with the Spoiler:

This pic was taken in Amsterdam during that leg of the tour:

The Precision bass was loaned for one gig and belongs to a TB member :)

I found another picture of Cliff playing the Precision but when I try to upload it to here it says the file name has to be under 100 characters. I will post it if I can find how to upload it successfully.

Maybe you weren't reading earlier when it was mentioned the original pups were too noisy.
I was reading earlier but to me, Rickenbackers have one of the most awesome sounds and it is because of the pickups. I know this because years ago I "ruined" a wonderful Rick by thinking that I knew better and put a Precision and A Jazz pick up in it. No more Rick magic :( I STILL kick myself for doing that. If the bass was too noisy for a metal band, it wasn't because of the pick ups.

Well, what would you do if your brother died & you weren't a musician, but had all his old gear?

I'm sure I wouldn't put them someplace where I would be reminded he's gone, every day.

I agree, so tuck them in the attic. Of your home. A private residence. Not a storage unit that anyone can break into and potentially steal. I wouldn't put them in a glass case in the living room.
