Tell you what I have all three incarnations and the RA has become my main gigging bass...Call it what you want a mutt-non traditional-whatever the tone is all there and does literally EVERYTHING incredibly well...
If fender made it,,,,there is a tone that has existed for 20-50 years that is being emulated......
When you really look for it.You'll see that fender changed its Jazz bass every three-four years. Most of those changes will have a impact on the tone.
If, as we learn of the variations in the era's of vintage fenders we have to split 2 compartments (60's Vrs70's)in to more......
So be it,,,,that's just learning. Finer and finer details become the focus.
Of coarse all variables are HUGE... including individual instruments.

Hey guys. We are in Argentina right now playing for a youth conference. An amazing 9,500 person youth event!! We played a bit today but tomorrow is our Concert. I dig it. I guess that is the new larger body also. Kind of 'strange' looking in a way for a Jazz Bass (maybe its just the picture angle or something... it really does look quite a bit 'wider'). I still dig it though! That color combination just really speaks to me!
I really dig that look and the larger body DOES make the headstock look more uniform...

It looks the same to me, but not sure. That's one of those colors that really changes depending on the light level and the camera settings and background. For example, my LM color looks much closer to 'what it looks like' in my youtube clips than it does in the photo's I've posted, for some reason. And, that picture of the one on Jimmy's site looks more 'deep gold/yellow' than mine does.
Anyway, nice bass... looks like a white guard versus the mint I have on mine, which works great with those blocks and binding. Really slick!!!!
