It look like the Blue AC Brian had at the LowEnd last year. Except it didnt have PG. If it's the one, that's an ash body. I believe it was a LM custom for Namm 08.

I think it's an RA - looking at the grain and the knobs I'm pretty sure it's the same as this bass which was at The LowEnd last year, which I was considering buying but when I checked on it I was told that it was an RA not an LM:

Hard to tell... it does look like ash. I don't think Brian was that familiar with the models. He mistakenly labeled the RA that I purchased as an LM, since it looked like an LM (no blocks and binding), but it turned out to be an RA (the only one made to date without blocks and binding from what I was eventually told). My guess is, he assumed this was an RA because of the black blocks and binding, which are typically an RA thing.

Who knows though. One thing for sure... it's kind of drab without the guard (IMO), but just comes alive with that perloid guard.

Good point, yeah I remember him mixing up your bass when you ordered it. And yeah - that bass looks great with the pickguard!

I know I posted this clip up in the last A-C thread, but a TBer just requested some info on the Markbass heads with Bergantino AE410, and I listened to it again.

Man, the LM sounds good to me (hadn't listened to the clip in quite a while):bassist: So, for those who want to know what a lightweight, NYC era LM sounds like, this is IMO a very good representation of the actual tone (at least with me playing it through my rig of choice with reasonably fresh DR Hi Beams).... warm, punchy, grindy, and some sizzle if you want it! It focuses more on the amps than the bass itself, but IMO worth slogging through all the blah blah about the head differences to hear that glorious ash/maple/single coil tone!

Preamp is basically on but mostly flat, with just a 10% slight boost in the low end... passive tone control wide open, no treble boost, both pickups dimed.

I continue to be massively happy with this bass.
