I have actual real world experience owning both a 9.35lb and a 10.5lb LM's and I personally totally dug the heavier bass more.

Well at least you admit it.I am not the only Alien...

A M E N
I am not the only Alien on this Starship destined and enroute to the planet ALLEVA -Constellation SATRODIA.
ETA: 10 years.
Dang, some one else feels the same way....
It ( whatever "it' is ) is all very CLEAR to me.
The census is favouring LM's today this Friday ( er, it is not the 13th is it, or a full moon ?)
And, I'm gonna go for it..
HEAVIER BODIES over the light ones pour moi this day 10 years later--- after crashing on the planet ALLEVA ( the weight of the LM 5 was the culprit,) with a disabled back--but a killer bass nonetheless for the young and the strong---- it shall prove to be.....
The LM survived the crash, not certain a lighter LM 5 would have made it ???
OK enough of this from me for you cats out there.
I'm out.....back to music now
I guess everyone could debate if it was the weight alone that made the difference. If it's not an issue of comfort it really doesn't matter.
Jimmy told me straight out that he preferred the heavier bodies tonally and I paid a heck of a lot of money for Jimmy's thoughts that went into building a bass for me that he thought was the best. He also made the same statements when he posted a few weeks back. I am really digging the result
I'm not saying plenty of guys don't love the lighter LMs and they can't sound great. Just no regrets on my part...
Tom Barney loves HEAVY HEAVY!!
But he could slam me in an arm wrestle any day I bet.![]()
Wow! Very nice, Kirk. That's DN, correct? Which bass will that be on?

Actually Kirk, both of your necks are just 2 steps away from paint... I sanded them both last night and Jimmy just needs to true the boards and round off the edge then put the frets in.
Both of those babies are looking hot, specially the one with binding and dots!

Can't wait to see a pic of that! That's what I went with on my new jazz.Binding and dots are gonna look great.. I love the ones that i have seen from other players... I always loved that '66 vibe. Im so looking forward to this.
Now that I've finished sanding that body, I wonder what it weighs... But as you requested I didn't take much off.![]()
Thinking that's the one thats going with me to europe next week.
