Well, I finally got my LG ... all I can say is WOW!
First of all, just opening the case and seeing that Surf Green (especially against the orange crush case liner) was breathtaking to say the least. It shows zero blue, makes a joke out of the impression the included pic leaves)...just a gorgeous shade of pastel green muted by a touch of gray overtone...WOW!

Fit and Finish: ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS ... I know there have been some issues/concerns of late with all Jimmy's got going on out there, and I can obsess with the best, but the build is flawless. The body, that DN fretboard, whoa, the fretwork...PERFECT.

The Feel: I was concerned about the neck size and radius, but they really are non-factors. The neck is unbelievable in fact.

THE SOUND: Let me put it to you this way... I have a Crest CA-9 and a Millennia Origin STT1 preamp going into an Acme B-2 in my little home studio (with a Duke LeJeune ThunderChild on the way) set up and ready to go. I never plugged in to it last night. The acoustic output of this thing is just fantastic...blew me away...just sat on the floor and played. It's amazing to look at something brand new that plays so old ... and the notes just jump out at you with sustain for days.

It will be interesting to explore the amplified sound with Jimmy's smokin pre...

COLOR UPDATE: There indeed IS blue in this color ... really depends on the time of day/lighting...fascinating.

Very cool! Seems like those hickups regarding the NAMM show instruments, etc. have been resolved and Jimmy is back to making the stuff perfect. Cool!

I still enjoy all the 'holy s***' comments when players see my Surf Green LG for the first time. It really is just an amazing look with the dark RW board.

I just had a buddy over who playes a MM 5 string (with that very skinny neck). I though he would freak at the very wide profile of the A-C neck, but he loved it, due to the very flattened, thin from to back profile. Nicest neck profile (for me) that I've experienced. Kind of 'Fodera' feeling in a way... wide from top to bottom, but flat, thin and sleek front to back.

I'm so happy that bass was perfect (for you and Jimmy!). Cool!

Great! It's always nice to hear someone that is so impressed by a new instrument.

That is a great looking bass.

Thanks man ... yup, Jimmy's got his 'A' game goin on, rest assured.
And yes, that Surf Green in Lacquer is Da Bomb! (btw ... what stuff do you use to keep it looking it's best? ... seems you've done quite well with that)

And just for the record, it was Ken's posts that "got me all in a 'flutter' WAAY BACK when..." and all I can say is a big THANK YOU.

Awesome. I can't wait to hear your amplified sound comments and also please post the full finished bass pics when you get a chance to take and upload them somewhere. I still remember Ken saying how these DuCo colors just kinda' "glow" and I bet that's pretty striking when you first open the case. My LG is resonant unplugged exactly the way you describe yours. All I have to say is, you better have a whole package of fresh underwear ready when you do finally plug it in and turn it up... you'll need them. :)

Grats! :)

BEAUTIFUL !
CONGRATS man!
I have to wait for another 6 monts for my LG5 :crying:

Seeing pics of A-C's in those nice G&G cases makes me want to order one for my LM5 when I get it. Are the G&G cases that Jimmy uses basically the same as the Fender branded/G&G built cases that you can get from places like Musician's Friend?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

I have several variations of G&L cases at home, but they're all for G&L (precision-ish shape) or fender precision...so, not sure if that's the best measure of how an LG would fit in one, but i'll be glad to check for anyone...

Make sure to note if there's any "slop" since the newer body styles are slightly larger.

I think I'm talking about a different case...I'm referring to the G&G cases that Jimmy offers and comparing them to the cases G&G builds for Fender with a Fender logo on them. I'm not sure if G&L (the bass company) has their cases made by G&G also (that makes it confusing!)
