FINALLY!! :D :D :D :D

I know.... I never had it in a location with a darn scale. I always guessed it was right about at 9, and that's where it is! Actually feels lighter for some reason (just like the LG actually weighing a touch more than my Sadowsky, but for some reason feeling a touch lighter. Must be the full size body, etc. making you 'expect' a heavier weight.

Man, does it sound good through that AE212.

I'm positive that's why. My LG is literally right at 9 lbs and it "feels" lighter than that even to me. Now, that doesn't mean I'm in the market for a 12lb LM, but it does mean I'm pretty darned comfy with my beloved LG. :)

I bet! I played a few things through the F1 and a pair of AE112's and I can totally see that.

OK boys ... I'm back in
Glad i didn't have to join THIS thread... "Has any one regretted selling a certain bass? (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... Last Page)"

I've been told that was the last of the ancient Fender Inca Silver tint Jimmy's paint guy had, when that was made.

AC>Walkabout...???
Heck. Yeah.

Love that dark silver Chef. How sweet do the AC's sound thru the Mesa WA ??????

Man I used to have to change roundwounds every 2-3 gigs(sweaty/acid handS) But on the AC EUT5 I can leave 'em on for 10+ gigs & they still sound sweet!!

Chef - I've been told that was the last of the ancient Fender Inca Silver tint Jimmy's paint guy had, when that was made.

Beautiful Chef!!! ;) U R a lucky guy!

AC>Walkabout...???
Heck. Yeah.

I'll say. As U probably know- I got my AC-(an EUT5) 2nd hand from a guy here in OZ.
He was saying it wasn't worth the $3000 he paid for it & needed the Money for something else- fair enough- each to their own....
So having done a li'l research here on TB- talking to a few AC owners & to a couple of EUT5 owners around the world :)
- AND talking to Jimmy via email.- who was VERY helpful & remembered THE Actual bass very well. He said it'd be selling NEW for around $6K
So After the info I got back from U guys & others, it sounded like the AC would be MY 'cup of tea' !!
BOY was everyone- including myself right!!!!!!!
I Still love my Fender RW 50's Precision, but am finding that the AC gets virtually EVERY other gig I do. It just does everything WELL!

Whether it's the woods, the in-house made pups- a combo of ALL the components(most likely) but the very 1st time I played it, it staggered me with it's FULL sound, vintage sound & it's ability to sound modern with a flick of the switch.
And mostly I was using it in PASSIVE mode that night, & I LOVED the way it functions as a 'regular JAZZ bass' -i.e. the tone control. in passive OR active.
I've hardly even USED the 2 band EQ- just haven't needed to.
This was ALL thru the WA scout too.

We were doing a motown tribute show- with an extra girl Lead voc. to add to our reg. two girls,& an extra 2 horns(trombone & trumpet) to add to our reg. sax player & a percussionist.

ALL ppl participating that nite all agreed that it not only sounded as vintage as they'd ever heard, but they all actually thought it was the best sounding bass sound they'd heard, EVER!!!
AC EUT5 > Mesa WA Scout 12" :hyper:

that's awesome

Aye! it is!

I LOVE the LOOK of RW boards, but I love the SOUND of Maple boards! :rollno: So it's SOUND that I go after.

Luckily- the AC EUT5 I managed to grab -2nd hand out here in Aus - HAS a maple board!!! So does my Fender precision.

Sadly Unless I have a large surge in cash coming to me, I cannot imagine myself getting another AC..... maybe a 2nd hand one. If I'm really lucky.

Hi all ,
I placed an order for a LG4 by Jimmy but I lost a gig & can't go on with the order.
I have 1175$ deposit by him & he cut the body & the neck already.

I'm somewhat surprised that Jimmy won't just let you cancel your order, given that it is not a custom body and neck and he has so many back-ordered instruments. Strange policy IMO.

+1...especially if it hasn't gone to paint yet. You would think he'd just use that body and neck for the next LG4 down that is on order...

I was between a 1600 4 strings & a LG4 & he had to send me pics of the top so I can decide if I want it or go for a simple LG4.
When I emailed him about me loosing that gig & can't go on with the order he said that he has to think about it , than after more than a month he said that there is no refund & that I have to find someone who take the order from me.that was like 7 months ago.
Now we exchange some emails & he tole me :or I continue with the order & buy the bass or forfeit the deposit.
He said to me that he is not a retailer & there is no refund in any case.
The truth is that I'm disappointed at this attitude because I know that he can use the body & neck for other orders without a problem(I wrote him about that)
The body & neck are cut but not painted .

I didn't sign on any paper or contract for the order so I don't see how he can oblige me to forfeit my deposit , but I live in Europe not in the USA so I can't do much about it

Anyway , thats life , I have to deal with that ,I learned that for some people money is above everything .
I proposed Jimmy to refund me only 800$ from the 1175$ , so he'll be happy & I'll be happy , but he refused.

Anyway , thats my situation now.

Thanks for your concern !

Wow... I'm also very disappointed to see he took the super hard line on this. :(
