hey guys I just picked up a fat summer stadium tour opening for OAR with Kelley James....the tour manager told me other than my rig, I need to bring 2 basses so obviously the RA5 and KBP5 will be going with me. I'll try and post as many sick shots of the ACs on the road as I can! Not a huge fan of OAR so wish me luck! :D

Great news.... Break a leg... and congrats!
Send me your itinerary . Maybe we can meet up out on the road fi we are in the same city at the same time... meeting a buddy in switzerland in two weeks.... and will have to do the customary Tequila shots:D:D:D

Im thinking of doing that... I trust you Jason..and what you say about that bass... And Jimmy told me it is real Light too....:D:D

Man ... that bass is ridiculous .... I can't believe how well it resonates acoustically ... You can tell without even plugging it in that it's a beast ... I hope mine comes out that good

You should take THAT bass to Europe bro ...

I think i am going to have to do it.... uhh ohhh..

You can say what you want about the paint job but that bass is a real P bass... And you will love the neck Kirk, it's one of the slimmest I've felt from any of Jimmy's stuff. The bass sounds full, round and old... Super nice!

After my LG5, a KBP4 is next.

I dont mind that paint job.. Its so weird that i like it alot.... It will work well in large rooms..... As we used to say in NYC.. Any publicity is good publicity... So its a great conversation piece... good or bad... I really love it.. The second I saw that bass i was like whoa.. I have to have it.... Im bored with Oly white, Bursts and pastels // except for Poudah bass only because it is so broken in and sits in a trac better than any bass that i have played... Anyway... Im ranting.. Long day of travel and gigging.. time to hit the hay...

thanks Kirk! I'll def email them to you....we're doing almost 60 dates so I'll be out there for a while....I WISH we were going to Europe (lucky bastard) but we're just staying in the states....but I'd love to meet up for customary tequila shots :D....and I vote YES for rocking the crazy KBP5 on tour. I totally agree any publicity is good publicity and having a crazy unique looking axe not only grabs people's attention immediately, but I'm almost positive it does some weird mental thing with the audience and makes them just assume you must be an amazing bass player....I swear since I started gigging the lime green RA over the sunburst KBP people's attitudes toward me and my playing have been completely different....it's hard to explain but I've definitely noticed it and so have a lot of the people I play with on a regular basis....and had I had the $ around last NAMM time and didn't already have a KBP5 it would have been mine! :D

I hear what yo say about the Lime Green bass... Audience people dont know why they react.. they just do... Its like a HIVE mindset... One bee stings then they all do... Especially in your Situation of playing stadiums.. you are only a dot to the people in the back of the room.. you need to paint that laser target on yourself.. and it works... That is my mindset too.. And the Ava Maria kbp5 is a huge target.. hahha
I nick named it the Ava Maria one day... sort of works.. Well I fly to Austin today... so im out of here.

Thanks! That's them! They're kind of a jammy rock-ish kind of band....not really my thing but they're definitely talented guys....I'm playing with this guy Kelley James and we're touring with them for almost 60 dates now from July 9th into September....pretty crazy....I've toured several times before, a couple times with pretty well known artists through decent sized venues but I've never done ANYTHING like this before....totally stoked! And even MORE stoked to be taking both my ACs on the road!

I just read about Alleva Coppolo in this month's bass player. I've been through this thread (but not the previous 16). Can someone summarize the different models? I'm not figuring out the differences from the website very easily.

I was intrigued by the article and video. Reading about a P J pickup combo in this thread has super excited!
