Club Alleva-Coppolo (Part 17)

My very first Alleva Coppolo. Picked it up in a trade earlier last week and have to say easily the best P tone I have ever played...

The pictures aren't the best color tone as this is actually a bit more red, so instead of calling it burgundy mist I have changed Jimmy's color to Oscar Meyer Bologna, enjoy!

LOL! Bologna Mist! :D

Nice KBP4 thomasjbass, congrats! I think I remember playing that one when it was still at the shop, also during Bass Player Live 09 I believe. BUT, you gotta get rid of that black straplok button... Seriously. :)

Yup, Jimmy's P basses are legit... I was playing the Ava Maria KBP5 on Monday and I just keep saying to myself how inspiring the tone is - that goes for all his basses actually!

After I get my LG5 I'm really gas'in for a KBP4 and I think I even have the color narrowed down to 3 choices... Of course I say this as though I am not newly married and don't have a wife to consult before making a move... :hmm:

Just a heads up, I just talked to Jimmy and there might be an used LG5 Classic coming back to the shop. I believe it's being traded towards a new build. All I know so far is that it's Surf Green and has a bound fingerboard. I would take it for myself if mine wasn't so close to being built.

Contact Jimmy for details and pricing if interested.

Sorry Bro but nothing yet... I was at the shop Monday and the bass hasn't arrived yet. Maybe Jimmy and the owner are still working out a deal.

Nobody does a better vintage 60s SB than Alleva.... fullerplast and all... That is beautiful!!!!!

Here's another example... Shooting this pic at this angle last NAMM helped "get" why Jimmy insists on using 1 particular nitro painter eventhough the guy charges so much... This now Mitch Starkman's bass... I said to myself, "Wow, that looks like an old bass eventhough I know it was painted only weeks ago."
