I picked up a used RA4 and unfortunately it took some damage by UPS in transit. I am toying around with the idea of having it refinished. It is currently nitro but I am thinking I'd be ok with poly (as on my LM4 - also a 70s style jazz bass). Would that be crazy in terms of affecting resale value if I decide to let it go down the road? If not, suggestions for refinishers outside of Pat Wilkins or Marty Bell?

Thanks

Basically the UPS store did not pack it well. I'd say it is in about 7/10 condition. I could live with it as is, but it would be nice to have it look clean. Plus, I am not a huge fan of the current color (dark grey).

If that's the RA that was bouncing around here last year it already had dings perhaps it was like that pre shipping?

A couple yes but some few ones were added in transit.

Shoot, that looks just like new, compared to the Inca Silver I bought from Kirk;)

There are 4 more - that is just a couple examples. It isn't the end of the world. Maybe I am just more interested in a new color. IBM would be killer.

Speaking of new, anyone have a 2012 price list and current turnaround times? I have a friend jonesing for an A-C 5er.

Wow, this thing's been through a lot. The deep holes here dont look like typical UPS stuff , but like someone dropped it or a rod got rammed into it. Serious damage! If it was UPS I'd definately look for compensation especially if they packed it.
