Just last week. Fantastic bass, just wasn't playing it at all any more. It was purchased by a TB who will not yet be named:D He's deciding whether to keep it and sell one of his, or eventually turn it, so keep your eyes open in the classifieds.

I only own the A-C LM, the Nordy VP5, and my 'noodle around the house' bass... the Rob Allen fretted Mouse. I really pretty much only gig the VP5 now, but I'm sure the LM will be used again sooner or later. Amazing bass.

Edi: Hah.... the secret TB buyer posted right before me!!!

If any of you has an AC G&G hardcase that you'd like to sell (or trade for a ProTec Contego bag that has never been used outside of Jimmy shipping it to me + cash on my side) then let me know. From what I understand, the AC versions are custom made because the regular G&G jazz bass cases don't fit AC's.

That might only be true for Jimmy's newer bigger bodies.
I think yours is one of the older/smaller ones...?

Mine is a hybrid - the smaller body with the newer neck. I don't think the new/old body style would matter for something like this though because it wasn't a width issue, it was a length issue. I specifically asked Jimmy about my bass and he said it wouldn't fit in the standard G&G.

Yeah, the large 5x1 headstock is an issue, especially with the shape of a J body.

Nice clip, great tone, nice playing. These LM's are amazingly consistent tonally. GREAT version of a classic 70's tone.

Seems like you are digging the Aguilar TH500. I REALLY like what it does to the LM tone..... meats it up a bit in the low midrange and roughens to top end a bit versus my F500. Dig it!

:D +1 Neat little head, although I think it has more to do with my moving away from the tone I tried to achieve for many years. Once you get into a passive P or whatever, a little more wool and rough and bloomy is kind of a good thing.

I do dig it with the LM also. Fat and grindy.

Per Narud's comment on Alain Caron, I too went from loving that tone for a decade or two to now not even being able to listen to it. Just the typical evolution of a typical player. Nothing 'good or bad', just 'different' at this point.

I continue to be amazed at the movement with much of the pop tune recordings to a much more organic, old school, fat bass tone. I've always tried to stay 'relatively current' in my overall tone when playing pop gigs, and at this point, the P with a more 'tubey' voiced head seems to be doing the trick.

Still love the LM though, for what it is!

Glad to see your living Fat these days. I've always loved Fat Tone.
