Great example of that classic 70's slap tone! Nice!ME grooving with my LM5 and NI Maschine. Sorry for not having the Marcus Miller run, but I hear it! LOL

I haven't heard one of those Aguilar TH heads. I need to get my hands (and ears) on one. Has anyone used one with an AE cab?
Sounds great with the AE210 and AE410..... big and warm and punchy and, again, just a touch 'rough' up top. Lots of character.
The jury is still out with the AE212. The TH500 has a LOT of midrange response and a lot of mid EQ power, but the low end is also quite extended. Kind of felt I needed a touch of EQ in both the low mids and upper mids to really make it work, and there is only one semi-parametric mid. However, both rooms I had that rig in were nasty ones (big and boomy), so again, not sure. The F500 sounds SO good to me with the AE212 that I'm not too worried about it.
Sorry for the OT.... back to A-C!

Mine is a hybrid - the smaller body with the newer neck. I don't think the new/old body style would matter for something like this though because it wasn't a width issue, it was a length issue. I specifically asked Jimmy about my bass and he said it wouldn't fit in the standard G&G.

I see... didn't consider length.
I can say that it is also a width issue with those newer bodies though.
+1 on the TH500! I've had mine for over a year and gave up my DB750 when I got it... I don't miss the big/heavy amp.
LM5 + TH500 + 2 x GS112 = Tone Heaven!
For me anyway.
And just an update... After almost 2 years, my LG is nearing completion... Jimmy will cut the profile today and if he is working on Saturday I plan on coming in to true the board and sand it... I can't wait. My LM has served me well but it's also excited to meet its sibling!![]()
Bald Steve said:Hello A-C club. I posted to the wanted classifieds, but wanted to do so here as well, just so I'm on your collective radar.
Short version: I'm a gigging pro in LA and need a 5...bad. I'm getting called for gigs that need more low end (I'm more confortable on a five at this point anyway), so I traded for a Nordy VJ5 from a TBer here. Too bad it arrived w/smashed neck (great dude, not his fault, all looks to be working out well). Major bummer, heart crushed, cue violins, etc.
Anyway, now I'm looking for an A-C 5 - preferrably an LM, but would look at an LG, too. If any of you fellas has one you are looking to move, or know of someone who might be looking to move one, please reach out here or to [email protected]. Have cash in hand, can move immediately for the right bass.
Thanks!
There are currently 2 LM5s in the classifieds
