@Modern Growl...not sure on weight, but I would say in that range. Has some weight to it. Might get a comfort strap to relieve some of the weight.

@KJung...really digging the TH500 with current setup.

I haven't heard one of those Aguilar TH heads. I need to get my hands (and ears) on one. Has anyone used one with an AE cab?

Sounds great with the AE210 and AE410..... big and warm and punchy and, again, just a touch 'rough' up top. Lots of character.

The jury is still out with the AE212. The TH500 has a LOT of midrange response and a lot of mid EQ power, but the low end is also quite extended. Kind of felt I needed a touch of EQ in both the low mids and upper mids to really make it work, and there is only one semi-parametric mid. However, both rooms I had that rig in were nasty ones (big and boomy), so again, not sure. The F500 sounds SO good to me with the AE212 that I'm not too worried about it.

Sorry for the OT.... back to A-C!

Cool. Thanks Ken. I may pick one up and give it a try.

Yes, back to the AC's. My LM slays me every time I play it. There is something so perfect about the 70's vibe you get out of those basses. They really are special.

I love the LM as much as the LG's. So different but both so wonderful!

Mine is a hybrid - the smaller body with the newer neck. I don't think the new/old body style would matter for something like this though because it wasn't a width issue, it was a length issue. I specifically asked Jimmy about my bass and he said it wouldn't fit in the standard G&G.

I see... didn't consider length.
I can say that it is also a width issue with those newer bodies though.

+1 on the TH500! I've had mine for over a year and gave up my DB750 when I got it... I don't miss the big/heavy amp.

LM5 + TH500 + 2 x GS112 = Tone Heaven!

For me anyway.

And just an update... After almost 2 years, my LG is nearing completion... Jimmy will cut the profile today and if he is working on Saturday I plan on coming in to true the board and sand it... I can't wait. My LM has served me well but it's also excited to meet its sibling! :hyper:

Is that Jimmy's current turnaround time (2 years)?

Hello A-C club. I posted to the wanted classifieds, but wanted to do so here as well, just so I'm on your collective radar.

Short version: I'm a gigging pro in LA and need a 5...bad. I'm getting called for gigs that need more low end (I'm more confortable on a five at this point anyway), so I traded for a Nordy VJ5 from a TBer here. Too bad it arrived w/smashed neck (great dude, not his fault, all looks to be working out well). Major bummer, heart crushed, cue violins, etc.

Anyway, now I'm looking for an A-C 5 - preferrably an LM, but would look at an LG, too. If any of you fellas has one you are looking to move, or know of someone who might be looking to move one, please reach out here or to [email protected]. Have cash in hand, can move immediately for the right bass.

Thanks!

There are currently an LM5 in the classifieds

Are there? The only one I'm finding is that NAMM prototype with the neck fill and raised/separating skunk stripe. A killer bass I'm sure, but just not the kind of situation I'm looking for at all. I found the 2 LG4s (the orange and the burst) and a couple of trades threads that were completed but not closed out.

Is this where someone posts that Futurama Meme with the caption "Not sure if Bald Steve sucks at search function...or a complete moron"?

Call Jimmy to see if he might have any in stock... (909) 981-9019. Good luck!

EDIT: He said one may be come available... A Gold LM5 Standard.
Is that the one Lionel owns, from Bassarama in Canada? He had it posted in the classifieds but pulled the thread

Funny you mention Lionel in Canada and a gold LM5 :ninja:

No... The bass I mentioned is a new build that may become available. Its also a Standard, the bass in Canada is a Deluxe. There's more than a couple gold ones around guys... Lol. :D

And as for the question about the wait time, I'm not sure where Jimmy is right now... Mine had setbacks with the first 2 necks.

Both of my basses are standards and they feel and play just as good as the Deluxe or custom models. Yes, I've owned a Deluxe with nitro & DN board. Just putting my two cents in, just incase someone was wondering if their is a difference in feel and playability. The DN board does have a soft feel to it though.
