Basically, I said to myself, "Self, how much do you want to put into options given that the base price is X." The answer I came up with I ended up opting for nitro + metallic finish + matching headstock which were not cheap by themselves either.
Sound rational thinking. Thanks Guys. I don't need to make the decision overnight. But I am mulling it over. I'm sure if I stick with Indian Rosewood, I'll be happy. Jimmy has some great Indian Rosewood no doubt. But I do think I'm going to pop for the Fingerboard Binding. That does it for me.
And I'm going for the matching headstock. I think it's going to bring out the frequencies between 114 and 117 Hz really nicely: maybe 0.0002 dB.
Roscoe, How much for the binding? I don't see it in Jimmy's list of options.

Did someone mention oly white w/ matching headstock?!
It looks good on LG5#74 and I think its a beautiful combo...not to mention, the AC logo looks very sexy on the white background. I even like those stingrays with maple necks that are white guard/pup cover on a white body w/ MHS. Those look REALLY classy. Sorry my pics are a little "washed out" by the light.

Yeah, she looks nice. But when we're listening to my band's live mix through my in ear earbud monitors and I get lucky, and magically pull off an unusually tasty lick, right at the end of a phrase, not stepping on anyone else's toes, and my drummer raises his head up at me and gives me that half-cocked smile: then, my friend, she is REALLY nice.

I freaking Love it! Stunning. Everything just looks 'right' on your bass. Is that Nitro or Poly finish? Indian or brazilian rosewood? or other rosewood?

I chose the full nitro treatment on my LG-5, I'm 26 and I really wanted to experience a classic nitro bass, since I've never owned one before.
Some might call this a Paul Turner tribute bass, but it's taken me a short while to get used to Paul Turner's approach to the Jamiroquai grooves that I've listened to for years. It only took me about 2 songs to fall in love with the look and tone of his AC. (granted, he has an Aquillar pre and uses many effects...but I knew these basses where special when I heard his.)
After much deliberation, I decided on the Honduran Rosewood because the up charge isn't much and the lovely reddish hues caught my eye, thanks to other Talkbass members with Oly White/Reddish Rosewood basses. Also, Jimmy convinced me that Honduran RW has a slightly more middy/burpy character, while Dalbegia Negra is a little more mellower. Which is cool, because I bought a Jazz...not a Precision (which i crave now!)
As far as the Sadowsky and AC go, they both are wonderful and complementary. When I pick up the Sad., it screams for me to slap it and exercise my right to funk it up, yet it still sounds amazing in a rock mix; pick or finger-style. I LOVE my metro, and it is not lonely at all! It's an amazing 8lb. wonder of tone, and it's nice to have such a nice "beater" jazz. Hehe...maple boards are cool with me!
If any of my basses are lonely, it's my musicman basses. But, truly, I have been gigging them too, and when a passage isn't comfortable for me to pull off on one of my newer basses, I turn to my 10 year old stingray...which will always feel like home.
The LG5 fulfills the opposite side of the spectrum, for me. I use nickels or flats on most of my basses, and the LG5 with nickels doesn't ask me to slap and show off. Ever so politely, it asks me to groove.
I don't care what anyone says, a great bass will inspire you. I've come home after many a long day and I didn't want to practice. I turned on the TV and plugged in my LG-5 and started to noodle. Before I knew it, the clock said 2am, the TV was off, and the mythbusters were the farthest thing from my mind. lol

I have to tell my self a couple times a week, NOT to post pics of this bass on the club thread. lol, I don't want to start pissing people off...but I do love showing it off. My digital camera is a pretty standard 250$ model, but I use the micro setting for closeup detail. 8 out of every 10 photos I take is crap, so it took a bunch of shots to get it right, and still the pics don't really convey the subtle cream of the white. I think the close up of the end of the neck with string shadows and tort guard is the most accurate shot of what the AC oly white really looks like.

Everytime I see that color combo, I can't help but think of how nice a KBP5 would look in that config. Matching headstock and all.
