Did anyone besides Jimmy make any AC basses?. I have an LG from about 5 years ago that I just noticed changing the battery has illegible initials scratched on the shielding w the date...maybe an N of some sort
My other one from 2016 is clearly Jimmy's signature. Just curious, do like the later one better actually and has become #1

Jimmy has had a few different people wire and probably shield the basses over the years depending on who was working for him. They have signed or initialed …kinda like the people who worked for Fender did in the neck pockets. I remember when Sebnem was winding pups way back she also initialed. So this could be the case here.

Yes - 1 3/4" nut, and slightly narrower neck heel on the TB. Narrower pickup pole spacing too.
The body is ever so slightly downsized also, almost not noticeable but Jimmy felt it needed it. Jimmy also, I believe, went to normal standard sized pups a long time ago as per my spec when I ordered way back as I thought they may have sounded a bit better- more open and "bigger". The alignment of the poles to the string are not an issue tonally with this tiny change.
He also shapes the neck profile with just a bit more shoulder to help make up for the less mass in the neck and body. Another spec we tried years ago.
I just picked up an RA5 in a trade. Was just gonna flip it since I really don't play 5's and I am now hooked on this bass. It is so organic and just begs to be played. The response and tone just nail a bygone era. I am actually leaving my 4's in their case. Maybe a KBP5 is on the horizon. Just crazy how a particular bass can do this.
A beauty! I bet mine'd look nice with a blocked up board.
It has got cool pattern on it already tho... and there's nothing I'd change.
