I'm considering parting ways with my LG5. I'm not sure about it yet but I'm putting out there in this thread before putting it in the classifieds in case one of you is interested.
Built in 2022, a Professor finished LG5 CS Ltd, at the time it was the last build with Brazilian. I'm not sure if Jimmy has gotten any more Brazilian. It's about 9.5 lbs. Has a killer B. The fingerboard gives it a very sweet treble and familiarity in the low end. Being a Classic Supreme with Dalbergia Nigra, it's truly the best of the best. Here's a short video I did of it this week.

Here's my 2023 LG5 Classic Supreme Limited with a one-off red DN fretboard:

Every Ducco paint chip generated its own unique and bilious reaction with the board so we settled on simple Professor black. As usual, Jimmy hits it out of the park again.

Thank you! In the summer of 2019 one of our finer clients called and said he'd bought some Brazilian Rosewood from a retiring luthier in Carlsbad, some cat in his 80s. Our client wanted to know if Jimmy would build two custom basses using this wood for fret boards. We sent Jimmy a few photos and he was all over it. We went to Upland and spec'd out the client's builds and there was enough wood left over for two boards, a five and a four. I took the fiver. I don't know what Jimmy did with the other board. I don't know if this strain of DN is rare but it's gorgeous and it sounds incredible.

Thank you. 2 month old and worn Sadowsky nickels mediums. I had ran out of Jimmy's nickels so I've used Sadowsky strings over the last three or four months.

I'm jealous, how different are they from one another. I have an RA5 that I can't get enough of. I flirt with the idea of getting another AC but since I read that the RA covers both grounds pretty well don't want to introduce redundancy

Not much. The 2016 Classic Supreme Limited (CNL) was built before Jimmy had '65 wire. It's recognizably mid-60s Fender and was modelled after a '66. The 2018 CSL also has CNL and it has the '65 wire. It's wearing flats. The sound is old school in either passive or active mode, warm and really round, very close to my '66. The 2023 CSL has the '65 wire and DN and it delivers in either mode, too, with the warmth that DN brings. It sounds a lot like my '66.

They're all good and differ only slightly in degrees of '66-ness..

Just dropping in here because I'm zero-ing in on an AC.
My preference would likely be Alder, but maple with Blocks and Binding is cool.
I would help if the weight was no more than 9.5lb for a 5.
