Guess Jimmy just can't open more dealers both domestic and Int'l becuase he is working solo again and I believe the recent orders already keep him really fully occupied. This is what I heard from him months ago when I got my shipment. Hope this helps.

Guess Jimmy definitely can't tell anyone a solid delvery lead time for now.
While int'l dealers got huge back orders as well, also, you basically purhcase whatever is available in forseeable furture.

I picked up this surf green LG5 a while ago. It feels light, sounds great and records too. I haven't touched the neck yet or the strings.
I'm digging both as they are but will work on them soon.
Then it will defintely be time to thin the herd of my other unused basses.
Also, I don't think Jimmy's pre amps get the credit they deserve. It really is musical and useable and has the vintage vibe down..which is their thing, of course.

Totally agree. Jimmy’s pre is easily among the best. Probably my favorite out there.

I have used my AC pre for something like 20 years now with both knobs up full. Jimmy told me long ago that it was designed to sound transparent and musical and full that way. It’s a set it and forget it thing.

I was told by someone who worked with Jimmy that the pre was meant to compensate for his low output pickups. That notion has borne out because I find that it’s practically mandatory with the 3 basses that have AC pickups, but doesn’t really work (or maybe say I haven’t found it necessary) with the basses that don’t have AC pickups.

Apologies if this has already been stated - I haven’t read this whole thread and don’t even actually have an AC bass. I used to take my basses to Jimmy’s guitar and bass boutique in NYC back in the day and had AC pickups installed on 3 of my basses.

Couldn’t afford one - then or now!

Mine have plenty of volume so i dont need any boosts. I think I run them typically at 30% ..ish
and never need the pickups flat out.
And I always can struggle with volume off the bass because I play so light.
Yep, I like the VVT config too.
