See thru white is real nice also, its hard to tell in this pic...

Yeah, you know what. That combo is more ME. (Oly Wht/Tort/Rosewood/Matching headstock ... + Dots and Fingerboard binding) mmmmmm!!!! I think I'm gonna make that switch if I can. Time to call or email Jimmy and see where we're at. The downside is that I expect any changes will make delivery longer. I think Ace went through the same thing. Hopefully not too much longer. If my bass hasn't gone to paint, I can't see why the delivery time would change much. I'll let you know.

Wow... part III of this thread. Cool!

Man, do I like that black RA pictured above... wow!

Well, in the spirit of keeping a variety of A-C pictures on each section of this thread for those cruising through, here's a picture from a recent GTG of my buddy Jason (TBer Vision) giving my wonderful Harvest Gold LM-5 a workout!

That big smile says it all. He looked over after he played a few notes and said... 'this is a REALLY nice Jazz Bass'.

Again, as we've all been saying, these basses sound very different from the other top tier boutiques (Sadowsky, Celinder, etc.), and the beauty and 'unique' part about them IMO is that they sound, to my ear, totally passive with the preamp engaged, even when the tone controls are moderately engaged. That is a dream come true for those who want a very 'authentic' vintage/traditional jazz tone and feel, but want a 5 string (the 4's are great I'm sure, but so are many Fender J's, including some of the new production models) and also a bass with the advantages of a preamp (elimination of pickup loading, on the fly tone adjustment, etc.) without losing that '1968 Fender' vibe.

That A-C is one of the nicest basses I have ever touched. I know Ken gets a great sound out of it live. If that bass is typical of A-C, they are some of the most meticulous luthiers working today.:)
