Mm-hmm: I don't know if I've ever seen a color that looks so good with maple as Ken's gold AC.

I agree! I was considering Gold on my LG5 (rosewood FB) but I don't think Gold looks anywhere near as good with a rosewood FB as it does with Maple. Ken's Gold / Maple AC is one of my favorites! If I ever get an LM, that would be the top choice on my list.

I corresponded with Jimmy today. I'm sticking with the original game plan: 3T sunburst/Nitro LG5 with Tort PG and fingerboard binding. It's gonna be great!
My next one can be Oly white! Although who knows? ... Maybe an LM5 will be what the doctor orders next? If so, I might have to copy Ken's Harvest Gold/Maple. That look is pure perfection!

Exactly right Bernie. I'm 110% I'll love it too. I simply hold an equal love for Oly White. But I'll have that color covered on my upcoming Nordy. So it's all good. And I'll have the cool story about the Vintage Fender guy doing my 3T burst. My LG5 should be especially cool with the fingerboard binding.
Also ...(pssst bernie) ...Our bodies are done and sent to the painter. Time frame remains the same, but Jimmy said he wanted to get the sunburst bodies done.

..............coulda swore you had a pic of Jimmy playing it with a Black pickguard.........my bad.....
Besides my Gun Metal Blue KBP4, I've seen two other 4 string AC P's. All three were passive. I don't know about the J basses, but I do have AC J pickups installed in another 4 string passive bass and it kills.
