Hey Kirk,
I notice the fat finger on the LG5 but what is that yellow thing underneath the E and A strings at the headstock of the kirk"b"powers4?

Oh its an earplug.. Sometimes i hear the strings ring at the headstock when i record. so a foam earplug deadens that string ring.. It happens on fenders too.... Almost like a Harp sound...

It is usually under the and G and D strings though... I notice alot on the D string on my PJ5 Sadowsky since the distance between the string nut and the tuner is far.
and if i do a loud gig with a guitard near by. i put it in my ear. haha

Thank you Ken..The sonic blue P4 has lots of dents on it so its OK to lean them like that. so far the Black P5 is pretty clean and thats good for me.. But i piled them up like that and had to take the picture... and i didnt dent them.. whewwwww

Yes, thanks, a 1/8 turn of the trussrod cleared up most of the rattle and clank.

Yes, thanks, a 1/8 turn of the trussrod cleared up most of the rattle and clank.

Cool! I figured that was all you needed. If you still find that one string (Almost ALWAYS the A String for me!) is a bit clanky sounding and the others are fine, just raise THAT particular saddle 1/2 turn on either side of the saddle. Sometimes it may take a full turn of the screw but no more than that. This happens to me on occasion. Keep in mind that I am a total fanatic about not having ANY noise at all when I play. I can't stand tweeters in most speakers because I don't even like the string noise that is inevitable with a newer set of anything other than flats! If you raise the saddle double check your intonation, you may have to tweak it a bit after raising the saddle. Good Luck!

London now? Mitch, you kill me. Not to worry, the KPB5 is going nowhere. Got rid of the 75 P instead. And who knows, by the time you get back here I may have... ......... nah, I'll keep it quiet for the moment. By the way, it looks like it's going to be a good fall for muskie fishing.

Steve9000gi - you might want to keep an eye on your neck for the first month or two. The neck on my RA5 moved around a bit for the first little while. Just a wee bit mind you, and it's been incredibly consistent since last January. Having said that, my KPB5 has been stable from the word go.

Now more than ever, there seem to be ads in the Classifieds section for people wanting to trade speciffically for an A-C............some trades seem a bit tempting, some a bit ridiculous........either way, there's no denying that the Alleva-Coppolo bass is hot right now........any of you ever thought about trading yours for something else and if so, what......?

LOL. What in the world would I trade #74 for? Hmmm...a beat up, overpriced, vintage Fender? Some artsy (goofy?) looking single-cut, coffee table top custom 7 string? hehe, I'd rather not.
On the other hand, I would consider trading it for an extremely old Juzek upright bass, but I as far as electric basses go, I'm finally content.

I really don't have any desire to acquire any more electric bass instruments. I still want an Avalon studio preamp, a pricey tube DI, and possibly another live rig, but as far as instruments are concerned...I'm good. My sound is great and the only thing that could enhance it is some nice tube components to front load my signal through.
Really, all I need to do now is to improve and get better gigs.

I think I'm going to install some DR sunbeams tomorrow night. The D'Addario's broken-in tone irritates me for some reason. Back at church again tomorrow morning with the LG though

I'm seriously down to get together with you guys. Any B-more GC would be cool w/ me.

Jimmy sent me an e-mail last week and said he was going
to fret the neck for my RA-5 and send it to paint.
I guess the body will be in paint soon too.
WOW I went from eight months to 2.
I ordered the right bass at the right time.

Played the LG again at church today, and while I didn't think I was digging the D'addario's on this bass, something was different today. I thought my tone was the best it's been, like suddenly the bass is opening up or something. Strange, but I like it heheh
