My main question is how do you think a LM would sound with a Rosewood board which is offered by request? I would love to a/b some AC's but that is not easily done. I do appreciate the you tubes and sound bytes which a really a nice reference point.

I have played a few LM5's with rosewood. Dan (Bass 7755), has a ridiculous one in trans white that I'm still kicking myself for not buying.
These basses are warm, full sounding & punchy ... very reminiscent of a '78 Fender Jazz. The last one that I remember Jimmy making was for Bass Player Live last october ... it was in the Dunlop booth ... it was killin' too.
I actually have one on order. It's waiting to be painted and I can't wait.
I love my LG5, but in my head, it has never really been "my sound".
I used to own an Atelier Z 5str in trans white that I loved, so Jimmy suggested this combination for me. I only parted with the Atelier Z because it had 17mm spacing and was much more difficult for me to play than a 19mm spacing bass.
There are a few ash/rosewood A-C's floating around ... hopefully the other TB'ers can get you some clips.
I don't think that you would be disappointed with this combo.

Hey guys,

Now that you're talking about a LM w/ rosewood... Has Jimmy made a KBP4 or KBP5 with ash body and rosewood fingerboard like those '59 P-basses? Just curious...

The one with the anodized guard is just a beaut:cool:

He hasn't done that yet ...
As of NAMM this year, he just started making ash body & maple board KBP's ... and both the 4 & 5 are amazing.

Jason, if you weren't such a great guy, I'd officially hate you for your access to Jimmy's shop... then again, my bank account is pretty happy about it... ;) :D

Cool! :)

Hey, do you have a complete list of all the members and their numbers saved somewhere? What I do in the thread I'm the club maintainer for is I do a "mega update" every once in a while which is a complete list of all members and numbers... I've seen other clubs do that and it helps avoid confusion. :)

Ace,
I would sure like a number! Picked up my CAO LG-5, nitro, Indian Rosewood, matching head stock, baby in October, 2008.
The bass is a dream, as you know, and Jimmy is the best when it comes to service and his talent for creating these instruments is outstanding!
Cheers!!!
MG

I will do the research when I get home next week.........

Cool, hey, up to you, and if you want, let me know and I'll shoot you an example post. I'm up to I think over 200 members in the one, so I can show you how to condense if you want, but to be honest, I think it might be a while before the AC club gets that large. It's kind of an expensive club to join. :)

This is a pic from tommixx but I recently aquired his BK signature, just been too busy playing it to take my own picture and get #. :bassist:

I just want to cry tears of joy when I play it. :):bawl::)
